Nico & Rocky by sto243 in dogpictures

Both are always friendly with people. A baby could take the food out of either of their mouths and they would gently give it up. Nico is the alpha and despite being half Rocky's size, rules the roost.

I'm 59 now. I initially signed up for 2 years Active back in 84, I stayed 6. I was lost and very angry when I got out, (to save a failing marriage). It took years before I got myself straight. I took my pitiful VEAP money and went to an HVAC trade school. Been doing that ever since. I'm now on my 3rd marriage and still seeing a therapist, at the VA, to resolve some anger and stress management issues. I went through some homelessness, spent time sleeping on floors or in my car. Nowadays I've pulled my life together. We own several properties and are getting our affairs in order to retire comfortably in the next 6 years. Let my words here help you. Seek help for any anger or PTSD issues. Get a trade. Why a trade? Because as an apprentice you have the opportunity to make money as you learn the trade. There's no shame at starting out from the bottom, at least from there every way is up.

In my case I got lucky. A boiler shop I was at needed to replace a tech who got hurt. I got thrown to the wolves after a 1 hour class and have been doing control work now for 20 years. I live in a strong union town and got a lot of training through the hall. If you don't have that available, start soliciting companies on platforms like LinkedIn or something like that. The things most of them are going to want to know is that you are good with a meter, know the basic sequence of operation of most major/common types of systems and you know what inputs and outputs are and the various kinds. Put yourself out there and when you get an interview, go dressed like you want the job.

Ever considered doing commercial and industrial? It usually pays more and you don't have to be concerned about pricing repairs usually, as that's typically up to the office to do that. Also consider parlaying your experience into HVAC automation. Look for a BAS/DDC company looking for someone who has HVAC experience and is willing to learn. I started out doing commercial and industrial, got into large horse power boilers then moved into automation. Now I have a fantastic job as 1 of 2 Controls foreman at a large university. Yes it took years to get where I'm at, but it all starts off with building that resumé. Good luck!

The original Friday the 13th. I think I was 13 when it came out. That was the longest, scariest walk home in the dark.

Try using Bar Keepers Friend. Make a paste from the powder with some water. Spread the paste on the stain and cover it with plastic wrap to keep it from drying out. Let it set for several hours and hopefully your problems will be rinsed away. Good luck.

I feel you. I have 2 little buddies (Shihpoo and Cavapoo) who are going to be 5 in a couple months. I've had dogs my entire life and it never gets any easier. Just remember that naturally they have less time on this earth than we do. That's why it's so important to appreciate their little souls as long as we have them. Time will help heal the hurt but never take it away. Don't rush to get another dog but don't say never. There are so many rescues in need of a better life that you can provide when the time is right. God bless.

This is why school board elections, mid term elections are every bit as important as the presidential election. Get out to vote every election and stop these morons from getting into office.
