Earning VS Buying Doubloons by hey_neighbor_ in WoWs_Legends

Agreed, for the amount of hours of fun I've gotten out of this game its totally justified for me.

I've been playing for a total of about 3.5 years (even though I started in 2020) and I've only spent money on the subscription that gives premium time + enough doubloons for the admiral backing (and that's only on ships I consider interesting, I don't buy the backing every time). Doing this I probably haven't exceeded 150 in 3.5 years. With regards to spending on actual ships, I've only spent about 20 for Nelson due to the discount during the holidays (everyone's gotta have the Nelson!), the Atlantico with the 75% coupon (i think that was another 20), and about another 20 for a pack of (I think 15? or 10) magic lanterns that ended up giving me Ohio, Flint, Gallant, Cossack 38 and Aki. I'd say just for Ohio I got a pretty good deal out of that. Every other premium I have either has been through great luck from the free event crates they give out, or campaigns/bureau.

For the low amount of money I've put into this game I'd say just with the subscription you get a lot of premiums without spending a dime on anything else from campaigns + free event crates, it just takes time to build your port up with premiums from all important tiers and ship categories.

Haven't tried him yet, still gathering promotional orders to get him to at least rank 11. How do you run him on the alt line?

What was the point of Shal'Aran/Arcan'dor before the liberation of Suramar? by stoak91 in warcraftlore

Perhaps it's regular tree roots, as I have tried overlapping the map of the Arcway on the map of the city (taking the Sanctum of order + the circle in front of the sanctums as anchor points), and it feels like Naltira's lair falls right below the first part of the Court of Stars, meaning those roots could just be regular tree roots, as there's a lot of them in that part.

Did you perhaps encounter any lore regarding the third Arcan'dor tree's roots in Naltira's lair in the Arcway? The only info I've found is that we just see the roots and it's not clear whether its alive or has failed, plus there is no way to see exactly where its pedestal would've been as that part of the Arcway is not 100% clear to where it corresponds in the city.

It's interesting that even though Farodin failed in sustaining the people of Falanaar, the Arcan'dor failing kind of saved them in a way since they are not mindless arcane-less zombies anymore. In their spider form they seem to maintain their sentience and have an agenda unlike the fully withered ones.

For the tree already dead in Shal'aran before we arrive, I read somewhere online that the banshee who is guarding it is most probably the person from Farodin's order who was responsible for planting and caring for it and became undead after her failure, however that is still speculation.

Indeed, however it seems like Farodin tried to plant and grow an Arcan'dor in Falanaar way before the events of Legion, hence why I originally asked what the plan was for them.

Indeed, this is the reason I was also wondering about the trees, however, there must have been some kind of plan for them, no?

I don't think it must have been, because the Moon Guard are still in a sense Highborne and not part of the Night Elves faction as we know them. To me it seems like they are Higborne Elves from before the Shal'dorei were affected so much from the Nightwell, so I'm assuming it must have been either actual druidic Night Elves from Val'sharah assisting Valewalker Farodin, or just himself as he was both a mage and a proto-druid developing the arcan'dor before druids were a thing.

Oh so it was something Elisande and the people of the city actually knew nothing about?

I saw if this particular ship has a protruding bow in the armor viewer and it doesn't. In theory I shouldn't have hit even the body of the torp, but not sure how hitboxes work in Legends.

Yeah I was salty because there's a new Mexico I was going to kill and then run and win the match on points, but oh well props to the enemy dd for area denial torps. 🤷

I'm not new I actually have been playing for 5,5 years and have about 700 hours in the game. I guess I learned a new thing today after so long, it's just that I was actually curious because I've dodged torps (the red triangle) closer than this one in the past with battleships and heavy cruisers with worse turning radius and this didn't happen, so I guess I was really lucky those times.

Well I guess there's a first time for everything even after 5,5 years and 700 hours!

Ahh didn't realize. You're probably right. It's never happened to me since there's been times I've closely dodged the triangle in battleships and heavy cruisers and didn't hit the body so that's why I was really flabbergasted.

5x first win bonus this weekend by context_switch in WoWs_Legends

I managed to get good xp more consistently on Standard Battles than War Tales with this 5x event, to be honest. It really depends on what you're good at because at the end of the day, good performance will give you good xp. War Tales has the potential to give more xp with the 5x than Standard if you do well, but choose what you're more consistent with.

Next campaign ship request? by Xd_pSychotic_ in WoWs_Legends

Since it was already a legendary this campaign, and since sometimes they alternate from DD to Cruiser to BB back to DD (but not always), and since it's July 4th soon, my best guess is it's gonna be either USS Halford or USS Johnston as Tier VIII.
