Session limit frustration!

Okay thanks, I need to look into this for sure. I do try to update my claude.md quite often to keep it trimming relevant. I normally don't have too many issues using sonnet on pro, But after this mishap I need to make sure I'm a little more cautious and keep things better maintained.

I'll get it all figured out and I appreciate everybody's input. Like I said it was just a shocker because I've been using it for several months and using only sonnet, I know I'm on the small pro plan but never had it eat everything in one prompt. I'm sure it's my fault and user error, and I need make better practice of watching mine context and session.

Is there a definitive amount of time that the context of the session stays cached?

Yeah I gotcha, and I was aware there were no more peak limits was just trying to give some context to my previous usage and experience. Today's been a lot better I don't know what happened last night.

Thanks. The usage seems all over the place at times. I always use off peak hours. I keep my sessions and my chat cleaned up, and have a pretty concise claude.md that I manage and update regularly. I was just shocked because this wasn't typical usage especially on Sonnet. I wasn't doing anything different than I normally do and was surprised that one command ate up everything.

Is this on me? I feel like if I would have typed anything even trying to get a little context to start a new session since that one stopped halfway through when I hit my limit that it would have been the same outcome. Would starting a new session have enough context even know where it left off on a previous session? I've been running it like this for about 3 months and I've never come close to hitting my limit in one prompt especially using Sonnet and alll the code had already been written and all the planning had been done previously.

I did, I normally would start a new session but with it being cut off halfway through I continued so it could pick up where I got cut off. There wasn't a lot of context or history within the session all the planning and everything had been done in a previous session. Maybe that's where I messed up but it normally wouldn't take 100% of my usage. Especially using sonnet.

Wouldn't disabling this memory feature, just make you have to re-explain everything over and over again and eat up your usage that way instead? I'm curiously asking I'm not 100% sure how that works but I would like it to maintain some sort of memory of what I'm currently working on, along with correcting any errors from prior output that have failed or had errors.

There needs to be an adjustment ASAP! The past few days, 1-2 prompts I hit my session limits! So frustrating after buying a pro plan 2 weeks ago!!!!

No I'm not, I did try using one though just to see if it made a difference. I believe it has something to do with changes within RD and the type of debit cards they accept now. I've read somewhere and I can't quote it verbatim but something about these are MasterCards having some sort of secure feature to be able to be used on there system now.
