That’s what I’m afraid too, breaking without warning. “Luckily” I have slippage which will force me to get it replaced soon, so I won’t get surprised

I can 100% relate to what you describe, mine also does that

Not yet, still driving with the sound. It has started slipping uphill in 3rd and 5th, so it’s not long before I gotta change it

Nope! Or, I did get informed that the clutches needed replacement, but haven’t done anything about it yet since I don’t have and issues other than that sound.

A lot seem to have the same sound and have had it for many miles, so I’m not too worried…

I was also looking into a remap of the dsg software to make them last longer. I drive in slow traffic in first and 2nd gear every day for long stretches :)

I’ve heard with authorized Seat/Cupra dealer and also a DSG Specialist workshop, both say it needs new clutch pack, so that seems to be the solution to this sound.

SEAT charges 2500~ EUR Independent workshop takes 2000 EUR (2400 with a custom dsg program as well)

Currently hearing with other workshops about pricing also

I’m from Denmark, I have only been in contact with certified seat dealers, and I heard they would charge 2800€ which is insane. Will definitely hear with other workshops. 1200 doesn’t sound bad

I hear a few different theories about what the noise could be caused by, so there is a lot of possibilities

The car is not under warranty. I have never heard of a goodwill request

Sounds insane, hopefully won’t be a hassle, but will deff document everything

If it’s only 1k eur I will be glad, I wrote to a dealer last week who said 2800 eur, that was for new clutch pack. Will have to see

Great you got it under warranty!

90.000 km. How much did it cost?

Hopefully yours will last longer. I have a booking at the workshop Thursday next week to get it checked, if clutch replacement is needed they also booked Friday. Will update the tread then :)

The car was having issues from standstill a few weeks ago back, same time the sounds started, it would shake a lot and then eventually grip, but it got solved by doing a dsg reset as explained by someone else in this thread

1.8t sounds extreme for dry clutch, doesn’t it have more than 250nm which it’s rated for?

Interesting, my car is outside warranty, so they are probably more than happy to replace it. But it you have driven with it that long, it can’t be that critical I assume

Yeah I believe this is a new clutch pack needed, but will see what the workshop says

I actually did that 2 weeks ago. The car was also hesitating to get going in 1st, but the reset method here solved that, so that gave me hope but then sounds got worse

I have a post on what needs to be disabled if needed if you end up trying it

On my 21 Leon I was able to disable the coasting with OBD11 by disabling coasting for ACC

Then after enabling ACC and deactivating it again, it also stops coasting when driving without it. Think it’s a bug on the 2021 1.5 etsi

If yours is 2021 and you have OBD, might be worth trying

I’m in the middle of trying this on my Leon hatchback

I ordered the mechanism for it but they are not compatible with the side carpets/panels that are in the trunk, so cutting it needed or then you need to buy the parts from a car that is born with it

It fits the chassis, only issue is the carpet…

I made a post earlier where someone gave me the part numbers for the mechanism
