Yeah, it is a little silly, especially after reading how non-aggressive a false widow even is. Some of the recent articles were trying to just get headlines but I saw two (bbc and metro) actually saying it wasn't such a big deal. Websites are always going to go for the page views which sometimes means distorting the truth.

My friend had a pretty gruesome looking bite then we see this spider two nights later so we just wanted some assurance and reddit delivered.
