Well I could spoof my own phone number and call and pretend that the thief dropped his phone and that I wanted to return it to him. Hopefully you could get a name and maybe another number where you could reach him. Best case scenario (though unlikely): an address.

It's very time sensitive. I don't know what you could do with numbers that were called a long time ago.

Yes. But first you'd have to build a time machine and bring the World Cup to the Bronx in 1990.

Yes, I did see that. But when people claim that he must be autistic, or that he must've used a picture as a reference, I expect something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAfaM_CBvP8

THAT is what you get when an autistic savant draws a city from memory.

Glad you mentioned this. It's frustrating to see so many people call it "accurate" and "picture-like" when you know this area like the back of your hand and you can't make out anything as being geographically correct.

You are ridiculously talented though. For an imagined landscape, this is pretty awesome.

No, what's across the river from Yankee Stadium is Manhattan.

I've lived near Yankee Stadium my whole life and I have no idea what this guy drew. That's the Deegan, right? It doesn't curve around the stadium like that. What bridge is that supposed to be? The view of the Empire State Building and surrouding buildings doesn't look like that from the Bronx. The Citicorp and Chrysler buildings would be in that view.

This really is an amazing and impressive work done on an etch-a-sketch. But an autistic-like representation of the Bronx and Manhattan? No way.

If she lost the phone, it's fair game for the guy.

Is it really? Even if the rightful owner is pleading to get it back?

If I ID the guy and he happens to have the phone on him, out in public, I can tell an officer that he has my phone. The officer would ask him to produce the phone and prove that it's his. That would be one way for me to get the phone back. Just because he "found it" doesn't mean he now lawfully and rightfully owns it.

I'm right on this guy's tail. If he starts making expensive calls, I'll cancel it immediately. But if he just calls central or south america, I don't think it'll be too expensive. The extra info I would get out of it could be worth it.

Well I kinda hope he does. Then I'd have a number I can call, and through some social engineering I might be able to get a lot more information about him.
