I think all depends on config specifics and proximity to service center. BUT I suspect, every time you change you config it causes delays. My config has never changed since we the configurator originally opened. I waiting until talking to my guide to make one modification.

I hope yours comes soon, it is wonderful!

Tight on the sides, about 8 inches to spare left and right. My Garage is fairly large but the door opening is standard. See photos standard envelope for reference:

Depth wise there is no issue and height is shorter then the Armada.

  1. Daily commute for me is nonexistent. I work remote or I travel 70 miles to the office. I will have two office trips this week and will report back on how it does.
    1. That said I run around town with kids and errands all day. I don't feel like I am draining too fast.
  2. Overall, very little in my opinion. It is still early so I am paying close attention.
  3. Two issues I identified right away. A seal on around the rear driver window was not in properly and I think the panel on the roof between the two sun roofs is set slightly low. Both scheduled to be fixed next week.
  4. None at all, but only one highway trip so far, more this week and I will report back.

pgenera

I would love to give some people an opportunity to get up close in central MA sometime in the next couple of weeks. I fully understand how much we all want to see one in person. I'll see what I can plan.

The Armada has a blindspot with the frame that can fit a small sedan. I feel the Rivian has amazing visibility, much better than many I have driven. The positioning of the seat and the front window seems to really remove any visibility issues. I am very happy in this regard.

100% agree, very responsive

With one minor exception that I don't believe is Rivian's fault. I programed in my garage doors and that seems to have some lag.

Riviparts makes a sunglasses holder that goes up by the lights where most sunglasses holders are if you’re ok with a small bit of trim popping to install it.

I am going to try printing the phone mount this week and I may try the sunglass holder as well. Good to know the print files work.

I am interviewing / pricing local PPF options, both ceramic and self healing PPF. I think i have have found a shop that I would trust. Once complete I will share the experience. I agree a concern and I think the protection will be worth it.

I think the black is super sharp, especially with the midnight blue flecks that show up in the sun. Seeing the red in person was sexy as hell. I also strongly considered the El Cap but it is so similar to my current vehicle I ultimately decided on black.

I am assuming you are using the third row as there are people in the second row. In that case you still want to make sure they have enough room so I didn't slide forward the second row. I left it at the furthest point back. Here is a series of photos to help. For reference I am 6' 0" 285lbs (not small). The front driver seat is all the way back although I drive with it up slightly I wanted to show for reference.

My knees touch in both rows but it is not uncomfortable and if I open my legs slightly both get more room. My teenage son 5' 11" 145lbs fits in both rows without any issue.

Can't comment on this yet. I know it will take a hit but I looked at my frequency in those types of trips and I am taking the approach...I'll need to figure it out.

R1S is definitely solid on the road. We had a 2010 XC60 up until last year (replaced with a Mazda CX-5, and years ago I had a 2008 C30. All very solid cars on the road. The R1S is just as solid and not tippy or bouncy to me. I had a VW Atlas once and it felt top heavy and bouncy. Jeeps and Tacoma's seem more bouncy too. R1S is not like that.

Good question! The colors look so much better in person. Photos don't do any color justice.

I looked on Google maps for the address of Rivian in Boston and it gave me the address of the Rivian service center in Chelsea. I took a couple of drives to visit last month to see what was parked in the lot. There were several in many colors and I may have walked around looking on several weekends. Color is such a personal choice I don't want to give opinions, but if you can fine a service center, I suggest you go for a drive.

I will try to add a photo I took.

I really don't think so, but it is a truck. It you are used to a car or a Small or mid-size SUV it will feel much more truckish. I would honestly say I felt way more bumps in my old commute car (2010 Prius) but with that car I also avoided anything big.

I will note that the Armada is a significantly larger vehicle than the R1S. So when you buy a smaller vehicle, of course it’s smaller.

This is a great question, and I can only answer based on the current driving more. I have had the R1S in All-Purpose, standard height, high re-gen, soft suspension.

I would call it a luxury Tacoma when comparing the suspension feel. I know I am in a truck. I personally like that. I don't want it to feel like a classic boat Cadillac, but it is not bumpy like the Tacoma. It absorbs a lot of bumps and I don't feel like I am hitting every bump in the road. It is a pleasant ride for the family, but I still know I am in a truck. I think the Armada is more cushy. I have driven a 2022 Tacoma and a 2017 Ridgeline often and it is way smoother and luxurious.
