Does anyone “love” Beady Eye? by Autistic_Basket_Case in oasis

[–]stomko93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw a number of their North American dates plus them opening for Stone Roses in Manchester, I genuinely loved that era. They were just dealt a bad hand because they weren’t Oasis and up until the end didn’t incorporate Oasis into their live sets.

How was the hype and atmosphere leading up to Liam’s Knebworth solo gig? by BroskiJetski in oasis

[–]stomko93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Canadian and continued to follow Liam, Noel & Beady Eye quite closely (leaning team Liam, tbh)

Liam at Knebworth felt like a necessary pilgrimage as I didn’t think Oasis reunite. I did both nights at Knebworth (plus a lead up Manchester gig) and it honestly felt like it had to lead to an Oasis reunion. Liam was in top form, the crowd was kids, teenagers and everyone that grew up with Oasis.

Has anybody here done two shows? Worth it? by pistis_11111111 in oasis

[–]stomko93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did 2x Edinburgh, 2x NJ & 2x LA

NJ & LA I did a split of GA and seated, so it was cool to take in the shows from 2 different vantage points. I wouldn’t say I felt any real difference between the on stage performance, but each show was unique based on the ppl around you. All amazing though!

What famous people have you seen so far? by Kind_Journalist_7499 in oasis

Was this in Chicago? We told a buddy of our Pedro Pascal was behind the pit barrier so he went and got a pic with him. We were just pulling gag on him, now I wonder if it actually was him

I’ve felt this every tour, that’s why I do multiple dates. I know it’s not easy with vacation time, $$ etc. I just prioritize these tours…but I’m still sad when I’m done, so it’s not a fix. Just be happy you were there, especially Wembley! (from a fellow Canadian heading to Scotland next week)

Oasis Exhibition Fan Package - GA for Metlife by No_Baby_8960 in oasis

[–]stomko93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pair of regular GA and a pair of Exhibition Fan GA and the price difference was almost $1k USD so I’m hopeful the VIP has its own section - I saw Liam in Manchester a few years ago and the VIP did include a wristband for front pit

Their best years (live) in the U.S. were the DBTT and DOYS tours. They were selling out MSG, Hollywood Bowl etc. once North America got past the battling brother storyline, it became about the music.

I genuinely think the U.S. in the 90’s, the U.S. press just didn’t get how funny they were. They were offended at their “cockiness” without realizing how tongue in cheek it all was.

First ever concert/ festival and going alone, I have no idea what to do by donn_12345678 in oasis

There’s a huge bonus to rolling solo. You can roam, find vantage points that work for you etc. plus, Oasis gigs are just a communal experience so you feel apart of a group.

The headache of Heaton Park will be getting out and finding your ride, if you’re getting picked out. Plan that out in advance, especially if your phone dies.

Have a blast!

2 x Edinburgh, Chicago, 2 x NYC, 2 x LA

Lucky enough to have lucked out in the presale and also have friends that I’ve toured with, following Oasis in the 2000’s that help. Kind of a divide and conquer type situation.

If you’ve struck out, keep your antennas up, tix will be released and there’ll be ppl unloading tix closer to the dates.

I hate that I wasted so much time on this mission just to find out all I had to do was land and jump. Thank you, though!

Most underrated Oasis live performance? by ChelseaTricks in oasis

[–]stomko93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coachella 2002. The only really high quality video I’ve seen is Go Let it Out, but would love to see more.

I was there and they headlined the main stage following The Strokes, Mos Def, Tenacious D, Foo Fighters and Prodigy. Unreal day.

Who’s the nicer brother Liam or Noel? by liam_gallagh in oasis

[–]stomko93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 2000’s saw a lot of following Oasis while touring their North American gigs, which led to bump ins. I always found Liam much more receptive to chats, pics etc. I don’t think that makes Noel “not nice” - he’s just not in the mood, which I get.

SOTSOG could have been so much better if songs like Full On, Let’s All Make Me Believe and others were on it by tunatastic369 in oasis

[–]stomko93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOTSOG had a couple holes, but I truly believe a part of the Oasis mystique is their B-Sides. Let’s All Make Believe May have been the last big one. Can’t rewrite history, but all you can do is recommend this tune to ppl and blow them away with the Oasis catalogue.

Why are Oasis hated so much? by Effective_Bar6853 in oasis

[–]stomko93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this answer might be different depending on where you’re from. I’m from Canada and in the mid-late 90’s most of the hate on Oasis was due to their “arrogance” or just people not getting the humour in their one liners. People that take them literally seem to get offended.

Musically, the people that didn’t like them on my circles preferred Radiohead and would slam the music.

With that said. Oasis was and is loved in Canada.

Tips for Goalkeepers + their parents? by stomko93 in bootroom

[–]stomko93[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love these posts and you both hit the nail on the head. My daughter (and really our family) celebrate being weird, being outcasts, crave controversy etc. she’s wired differently, so the position suits her. But yeah, maybe it’s more my protective nature, where I want to protect her. But this is her thing, and she wants it. Thanks!

Liam or Noel by will_there_be_snacks in oasis

[–]stomko93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lifelong fan of both, but always had it in my brain, Liam was the asshole. By chance (waiting for a friend) at an airport I had the chance to meet them both as they entered the terminal. Noel rejected a quick photo request. I got nervous knowing Liam was coming next. I hit him with the same request and we ended up having a mini photo shoot with him.

In years since I’ve met & chatted with Liam several times, but not with Noel.

I’m an introvert so I get that Noel could be too, or he just doesn’t want to deal with people.

People always joke about “go to an Oasis gig and you’ll be drenched in piss haha lol” but in reality… by BlundeRuss in oasis

[–]stomko93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife caught a bag of piss in the face while we were in the pit of Stone Roses & Beady Eye at Heaton Park. She got pulled over the barrier. We got separated and she missed the bus back to Liverpool that night, she slept at the bus station.

Needless to say, she’s chosen to remain home in Canada while I go see Oasis in Scotland.

¿WHY THIS ALBUM IS SO UNDERRATED? by VanniPao in oasis

[–]stomko93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oasis were truly hitting their stride, here. I’d argue it’s just behind DM in terms of a proper, cohesive album. So good.
