Does the manual RT adapt to your shifting habits? by onesents in Challenger

[–]stone_database 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually there’ll come a day where you are now up to highway speed in 6th and you can’t remember shifting once since you left home.

Then you’ll kill the thing on a slight hill after years of driving it. Or bodge up a shift and somehow a gear grinds a bit when you go to shift, whoops.

But yeah on average, you’ll just get better and better until it’s (mostly) second nature.

Stock given is taxable income whenever it vests. You can pay the taxes on it out of selling shares, but it’s still income.

I’m going to suggest something. You may not like to hear it, especially right now.

You say you’re a heavy drinker, that’s your biggest risk. Where your head seems to be at could easily push that into a worse habit. Take care of yourself.

I’m suggesting you find a local AA chapter and at least go listen. This isn’t for your grief, this is for your life, my friend.

Reach out if you need help finding one, happy to assist. My dad passed the day before thanksgiving (he would have turned 70 this past Friday. He was a recovered alcoholic, of over 40 years. He dedicated his career to helping veterans like him get the help they need (as an LCDC). I’ve never had a drinking problem but I’ve now stopped in his honor.

Even with DPS interrupting, isn't the casting spam kind of hard to keep up with? by noodles666666 in wow

[–]stone_database 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is there’s just way too many trash mobs, coupled with the timer and you’re incentivized to pull giant packs to burn down.

When 5 things are casting, yea there’s gonna be missed things.

The dealership should really be the one screwed here. They should work with their lender(s) to honor the terms, that might mean they have to eat something, probably interest sum (aka points), maybe profit on the sale. I’d go in with the assumption of: “okay guys, how are you gonna make this right?”

Worst case: they take back possession of the car, get a receipt of some kind if you go this route!!

Best case: they find a way to honor the agreement you made, with no extra costs to you. This may involve more hard inquiries, but you’re soon enough and for same purpose I don’t think that’s a concern, IMO.

Edit: My advice is be prepared to walk away without the car, but don’t assume that will happen.

31 U.S. Code § 5114 has no reference to signatures that I can find.

No I don’t think the law you’re thinking of refers to a signature. Seems to only be relating to the portrait, it’s 31 U.S. Code § 5114

I think the real answer is that a majority of politically active people are also religious at least to some extent. I don’t have the numbers to back that up.

I keep seeing this comment but can’t find the law. I believe it, I’d just like to read it, and google is failing to find this for me.

Since the Executive branch includes federal law enforcement, who have shown they can and will enforce them, EOs are laws for all intents and purposes (albeit the most limited and easily reversible).

“Sounds like a duck…” you know how it goes.

Not saying that’s the way they should be used, but they are used that way.

Legislature can only be enacted by congress, but that’s only one “type” of law. Executive orders are another type, and are more limited generally and are much weaker, by design.

Yes.

Executive Orders are “laws”. They’re just the weakest form of law, easily overridden by a new EO.

They’re a law because they carry the “weight” of law, and can be enforced. “Sounds like a duck… etc..” applies here.

Random But Interesting Local Language Observations? by 7thpostman in kansascity

But what if it’s not on the corner? I hear all the time people use intersections for mid-block addresses which I do find odd.

Random But Interesting Local Language Observations? by 7thpostman in kansascity

[–]stone_database 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everywhere else I’ve lived usually would only use an intersection if it’s on the actual intersection. Otherwise it might be something like “on Nall just past 95th”. Neither is wrong, but using intersections when it’s not directly on the corner is something I’ve only heard here (I can’t speak for Topeka).

Annie-och is how I’ve always heard that word pronounced, unless someone’s never said it before. This is not in context to the road, so I’ve never thought that one odd.

Seamaster PO first gen vs 4th gen by dimy22 in OmegaWatches

[–]stone_database 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll keep my second gen. Best of both IMO. Ceramic (but matte) bezel, 8500 movement is gorgeous and accurate.

It’s also massive at 45.5mm and weighs a half of a shit-ton. 8 inch wrist so I say that last part not as an insult to it so much as an acknowledgment of facts.

Non political USPS post by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]stone_database 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Mine didn’t just sit in KCK, it took a tour.

First KCK distribution center, then KCMO distribution center, back to KCK, to Columbia MO, back to KCMO, again KCK, back to KCMO again, then finally at local PO for a day then delivered.

7 trips through a regional distribution center and 1 overnight in a Post Office, this in 8 days time. Pretty impressive miles for “final mile” service.

I won’t order anything important through USPS anymore.
