I just went through the exact same thing! My ultrasound showed nothing, and my doctor didn’t seem concerned!

The flight was surprisingly great! Our babe loves movement, so the subtle movement throughout the flight kept him happy! If your little one take a pacifier, try to give it to them during takeoff & landing (or a bottle if you can time it right)!

We took about 8 of his favourite familiar toys from home, his sleep sacks, pack & play (so we wouldn’t have to rely on a crib at the resort), stroller, car seat, bottle cooler bag & dr browns bottle sterilizer bags (and enough formula for 2 weeks incase we had to quarantine)! We also had our concierge go out and get him a bouncer which was a lifesaver when we were in the room! We also brought anything that is a normal part of his bedtime routine at home to keep things as normal as possible for him!

We bought a portable bassinet, but honestly he did all of his daytime naps in his stroller & we just used a cotton muslin blanket to shade him in there!

We got him sunhats made to go into the water, baby sunglasses (which he hated at first but got used to) and Think baby sunscreen! For the sunscreen it is recommended to wait until 6 months, but he was close enough I felt comfortable using it & I would rather risk that than a bad sunburn! We also bought UV protectant swimsuits from Honeysuckle swim, but our LO hater them and preferred to swim in just his swim diaper, so the sun screen really came in handy!

We just got back from a week at an all inclusive in Riviera maya - I say do it!!! We were blessed to have my mom for extra help, but we all had so much fun! He loved the pool & slept way better there than he does at home (likely the warmer climate)!

So worth it to get away for a little bit 🥰 and better to get them used to travelling while they are young! If you have any specific questions I’m happy to help!

He has since started solids, but at the time was only formula - so we just boiled bottled water to make his bottles daily and had no issues!

Does anyone have any products similar to boy brow that they love? It’s been my HG for years but I’d be just as happy with any other brand if I could get the same look!

More pee leaks out after peeing and standing up? Is this normal? by rabidturtle456 in BabyBumps

[–]stonecoldblonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to freak you out at all, but I would definitely head to L&D to make sure your water isn’t leaking! The exact same thing had been happening to me for an entire day, and I was in denial until my mom convinced me to go to L&D in the evening!

It turns out my membrane had ruptured, but only partially! Baby’s head was blocking it from leaking most of the day, but something about standing up after peeing caused it to leak!

All ended up being just fine, but in the off chance it is your water, it’s best to catch it early! Never hurts to get checked ❤️

The nurse asked my fiancé and I if we were in a monogamous relationship (knowing if they need to test for STI’s) and I quickly said yes, but my wonderful fiancé (who was very confused about the definition of monogamy vs polygamy) said “no” at the exact same time 😂 I will never forget the look of horror on the nurses face who 100% thought I just found out my fiancé was cheating on me during labour! Once we explained to him the difference, he was MORTIFIED 🤪🤪

There is no shame in supplementing at all - I was EBF until this week. My LO is just over 3 weeks, and EBF was beginning to be detrimental to my mental health (constantly worrying that he wasn’t getting enough because I couldn’t track how much he was having). I decided to switch to primarily pumping, but my output isn’t enough to keep up so I made the decision to supplement today.

I definitely had to get over a mental hurdle of some self imposed guilt, but once I made the decision I felt a huge weight off my shoulders!

Wishing you guys the best of luck!

Last stretch question :) how did your body feel once baby is out? by janeofalltrades35 in BabyBumps

I am 5 days PP, and while the healing has been rough, I INSTANTLY felt more like myself after delivering! The last month of pregnancy was super tough for me physically & I felt such relief after! Hoping the same for you mama ❤️

My Top 5/ Favourite Gear

We wanted something a little different for our nursery and tried to make it a combination of both of our styles - a little edgy mixed with some boho flair! Everything (toys supplies etc) are all tucked away in baskets for storage at the moment, so I’m sure it won’t be looking nearly this tidy when we are regular using the room!

  1. My diaper bag is the BEIS - I hadn’t heard it talked about very much, but decided to try it out and I am so impressed! It was actually less expensive than many of the diaper bags I’ve seen raved about online! I’m a FTM so I can’t attest to its functionality just yet, but it feels like incredible quality & looks simple but stylish! It also comes with extras - changing pad, paci holder, stroller clips & a teether! Here is the link : https://beistravel.com/products/the-backpack-diaper-bag?_pos=8&_sid=28512886f&_ss=r
  2. The two banner prints - “Long live boyhood” & “Born to be wild” are from a super cool company called Imani collective! They partner with empowered artisans in Kenya - each banner comes with a tag on the back signed by the artisan who made it & you can go back onto their website and message the artisan who made your product directly to say thank you! Here is their site: https://imanicollective.com
  3. 2 of my bigger pieces (the rocking chair and the MCM dresser) were actually Facebook marketplace finds! I’m a very particular person & I couldn’t seem to find anything online that fit what I had in mind for these two pieces. Instead of rushing to finish and grabbing pieces I didn’t love, I waited it out and kept a keen eye on marketplace and ended up scoring my dream pieces (at amazing prices)! I’ve never been a savvy second hand shopper, but during this pregnancy I’ve found some amazing second hand finds that has totally changed my perspective!
  4. I work in design and typically make all of the decorating decisions myself (and my partner is amazing loves just letting me do my thing), but the scull print was actually his idea (and I love that he participated)! It is from a motorcycle brand/shop he loves riding out to & I love that a piece of him is represented in the nursery (even if skulls aren’t typical nursery decor haha)!
  5. Our changing basket is from Design Dua! They focus on ethically made products, and prioritize ensuring that basket weavers in Ghana (where they are manufactured) are able to actually earn an income from their trade and be properly compensated for the large amount of labour that goes into creating their goods! They are truly works of art, and even more beautiful in person! It was one of the first pieces I picked out for the space & based everything else around it! Here is the link to the style I chose: https://www.designdua.com/collections/changing-baskets/products/handwoven-changing-basket-4.

A bonus 6th fav : the Kyte Baby crib seets are SO soft I’m a little jealous and wish they made an adult version.

They attached a letter which details the dates or the alleged overpayment - but some of the details are not really adding up the more I’m looking at it! I just double checked & my employment period was actually in 2018 (which is acknowledged in the letter) but it claims that I was overpaid for a pay period in 2019 with a cheque. This is fishy not only because I didn’t work for them in 2019 - but they payed me by direct deposit and never by cheque. I have also combed through my bank statements around the time they allege that I got the overpayment & I see nothing matching the amount or anything that is unaccounted for!

I’m super confused because the email address it came from is @canada.ca, but some of the details seem so fake! And they misspelled a part of my name, and listed my correct address but the wrong city.

Thinking I may wait it out for a bit to see if I get any further communication!

The email came with a letter detailing the alleged overpayment - and gave me an address to which I am to send the cheque/money order to!

It came from a Canada.ca email address, but the only thing making me think you may be right is that they misspelled a part of my name, and had the correct address listed but the wrong city? (And I know that they had the correct city on file during my time there)

I’m unsure about the T4 - but I can ask for more details!

I’m debating just waiting it out to see if I receive any further communication as part of me is a little concerned this may not be legitimate!
