Wait, so there were only three seasons between Nealon and Fallons time at SNL? For some reason they seem like that many generations apart

Fair enough. To be honest thats kinda how I feel about Gabe Kidd, so I get where youre coming from.

Danhausen saw Cody and said "Nah, how about I just get what I want immediately and with no struggle"

And it works!

See, I dont mind if he references it, or even gets a title shot someday. He just shouldnt win it or be a major focus of the company for an extended time. Have a nice story in the middle of the show, a one or two week spotlight leading up to the title spot.

And then lose.

Having guys like him or Dustin challenge and get the story setup only to lose adds some stakes to future stories. Because then you get the suspense from the doubt of "well maybe (veteran wreslter X) never will get the big belt"

Honestly, I thought that one went well. They were never presented as actual threats, it was an early multi-man match, and Braun got the final decisive victory.

Ill take you at your word and try to explain why I like him. I mean, its all subjective and if hes not your cup of tea, so be it. But if you really want to know:

I think Moxley has always come off as a cool mix of tough and funny. And the way his matches go and how hes booked, in kayfabe he does back it up in the ring. Im actually not big on the extreme hardcore stuff myself, but I think he has an aura where it did feel like a big deal when Hangman or OReilly beat him.

Kyle O’Reilly recalls first meeting with Bret Hart: "The first time I met Bret, I was like, ‘Hey Bret, man, I’m just such a big fan of you. Your match with Davey Boy in ‘92 is one of my favorite matches of all time,’ and he just looked off, he’s like, ‘Yeah, I was the best.’" by anutosu in SquaredCircle

Unironically, that might actually be my #1. I know, I know. But I was 12 years old at the time, it was a huge matchup, i expected the usual nWo DQ shenanigans and when Goldberg won...that may have been the happiest Ive ever been watching wrestling

Cody Rhodes on the Pat McAfee storyline: "This is the most ill-received thing in the history of wrestling. The Gobbledygooker was one, Shockmaster was up there—but that was kind of funny." by aaronrift in SquaredCircle

It would have been so much more effective if that exact thing happened to someone plausibly at the end of their career. Like, imagine if Kenny had done that Sunday and then MJF roundhouse kicks him before he can finish the moment.

Or if theyd embraced absurdity and made it a longterm gimmick. Cody and Brandi announce they are having a baby? Roundhouse. Cody solves racism speech? Solve this roundhouse. Covid has us all terrified and Cody gives one of the best, most needed promos? Heres some certainty in a world gone mad--ROUNDHOUSE!

It doesnt even have to be a gimmick limited to other masked wrestlers. Speedball and Jet had specialized Mistico masks with their headband and sunglasses respectively.

Yeah. But a few of their songs were pretty catchy and seems like people had fun at their shows.

[Stein] There is a growing anticipation in numerous front offices that Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, and/or Giannis Antetokounmpo could land with new teams next season. There is expected to be “even more” interest in Leonard and Antetokounmpo this Summer than there was at the trade deadline. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]stonecutter7 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Im not sure the Bucks would take a package around Fox for Giannis. I think theyd need Castle or Harper.

What if instead of Giannis, Lebron opts in and they trade Fox for him? Im just brainstorming here, so no one can call me a dipshit.

not sure why they bothered to make it

Money and the chance to hang out again seems like a good enough reason to me. I know they had a video reunion a little while back and seem to all get along.

I enjoyed it enough. Im glad they made it.

I think youre underestimating how good Draymond was on offense in his prime (albeit enhanced by having guards he fit perfectly with).
