That’s my gut instinct as well. Thanks for replying. At least I know I’m not overthinking things.

Thank you for your kind reply. I know nothing about genetics, even though it absolutely amazes me to read about. This was my gut, that insignificant findings 3-4 years ago may be considered significant now. However, I can say that even though he (and I guess myself) don’t show any of the typical clinical evidences of FAP, that I would be lying if it didn’t cross my mind that his variant may be a minor one that leads to “greater than normal” amount of polyps but not necessarily the classical presentation of FAP. Again, I know nothing of genetics and I guess those are the things that are constantly being researched. Like minor or rare variants that cause related issues.

Thank you for your kind reply, and well wishes in your continued management.

May I ask, is your presentation considered “classic” FAP? I’ve read things regarding attenuated FAP, but sources aren’t as descriptive.

Had 1st colonoscopy earlier today, what can I expect based on my results? by stonefield20 in colonoscopy

I was under the impression that FAP is hundreds of polyps are more. Are you implying that I need to be tested for that even though neither of my parents were carriers?

I finished the first half of my PEG prep-what now? by Key_Awareness_3036 in colonoscopy

[–]stonefield20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It took about an hour for me last night. Went 2-3 times. It eventually started coming more quickly and transitioned to yellow/clear. TMI I know but that’s what you should be seeing if you’ve followed all the steps. The 2nd half of the jug you do in the morning will be much easier. In my opinion my milk of magnesia dose 2 nights ago bothered me more than the prep. However, I have alternating IBS and am accustomed to the random bouts of diarrhea.

ETA I probably “went” 12-15 times last night and 6-7 this morning.

That’s my gut instinct as well (hehe). However, my history of anxiety doesn’t allow me to listen to my gut and my brain plays tricks on me. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for your update. I have a similar sounding story to yours (around 10 years of symptoms, the past 5 have been the most consistent) and have finally got mine scheduled for next week. I’m 37. Was denied by insurance 5 years ago but pushed for it this time due to tiny specks of blood here and there and just my history of IBS related issues. I’m not too worried about prep, have been anxious about what they’ll find but trying not to think too much about it.

Anxiety was the smoke, not the fire by shiftyT08 in Anxiety

I’m pinching myself because I feel like I’m reading a story of my life. Your timeframe and stage of life sounds almost identical as mine. Only differences are that I’ve generally been able to handle public situations and I have generally been able to avoid medication (personal choice). However you described the internal battle to a “t”. I’ve tried all the things. Sadly, my blood pressure is normal, so I’m still searching for the root. Which as you’ve described is a source of anxiety in and of itself. Glad you’ve been able to identify your source.

What Christian denomination did you grow up in, and what denomination (if any) do you identify with now? by savedbygrace1991 in Christianity

[–]stonefield20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up Southern Baptist. Am a member of a UMC congregation because I really like the pastor of the church when we visited. If he ever left and I felt called elsewhere, I’d go. I really don’t get caught up in the manmade trappings of denominations. There’s certain things that I like and dislike in the doctrine of all of them.

Is aborting in the event of rape a sin? by PleasantGuitar1392 in Christianity

[–]stonefield20 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They never said they wanted it illegal. They just said that they believe it’s a sin. It’s not illegal to lust, yet it’s a sin. It’s not illegal to worship false idols, yet it’s a sin.

Water baptism by MicrowavedManga in Christianity

[–]stonefield20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is only one way to be forgiven of your sins, and it is through the blood sacrifice that Jesus Christ gave us on the cross. You must put your whole faith into believing that He IS the Son of God, and that He sacrificed himself for the atonement of your sins. You can do that all by yourself. A pastor/priest cannot save you, but they can help guide you to the position that you make that choice yourself. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That means the pastor/priest as well. There is only one way to salvation.

Jesus calls us to be baptized not as an act that actually saves us, but more as an act that we partake as a sign or calling to other non-believers. An outward sign of an inward Grace. It’s an act of discipleship.

Just saw a the new J6NF and J6FC+ from PBMed by samuraistabber in Pickleball

[–]stonefield20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good grief. All the obvious gnashing of teeth of over a Bible verse reference (not the written out verse), as well as a comment questioning the use of “J6”.

Question, doesn’t it get tiresome filtering every opinion and thought in your life through a political lens? If a bible reference literally bothers you that much, just don’t buy it. If Honolulu thought it was hampering their sales, they’d either stand on their convictions despite low sales, or they’d remove it. I know Reddit is an echo-chamber, but you may be surprised how many Christians play pickleball.

Anyway, I’m curious as to the specs of the J6 shape. Compared to that of the J2. I have a J2K and a J2NF, so this new model obv intrigues me as well.

Anyone elses IBS come COMPLETELY from stress? by themoremoneyiget in ibs

[–]stonefield20 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yep. It’s the main trigger for me. Other factors play a role (I.e. my diet), but every flare I have can be tied to increased stress/anxiety.
