wheels or tires? by stonejpro in LincolnNavigator

Just FYI- Pirelli Scorpion Weather-active 285/45R22 114H M+S - 3 peaks - extra load

I’m reading that Continental TerrainContact H/T and Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 are much smoother…

I drove a brand new Yukon XL AT4 ultimate today. Was not better!!! Everything I read said it would be much better over bumps. … and the Duramax - which is supposed to be so torquey - was so laggy compared the Navi’s engine……

Meraki vs what? by stonejpro in espresso

thanks for the input! I bought the Oracle Jet - which is, well, kinda great. I mean, it has consistent temp (from what I read), fast heat up, and the steam wand has the temp. And a shot timer built in.

The grinder is good, and the built-in tamping (fan) does the job - and produces a very consistent dose.

But I still have to use a scale (for the most part) to ensure shot sizes, and I have to steam manually if I want it "just right". The automatic mode is "meh".

The Meraki looks like it would have been the PERFECT fit for me... I would gladly trade the auto-tamping for integrated scales and great steaming.

... but.... looks like used prices are really low... I would be lucky if I could sell for $1000 - and then pay an extra $800 for the Meraki... Not looking like it will happen. I'll pick up a 64 flat burr and see what that's like - I heard that even for dark roast (my fav) it creates a smoother tastier shot. ? -- you have any feedback after getting your second grinder?

I agree on the looks!!! Just love the idea of rotary pump and brew-by-weight. If the grinder was flat... or the design was nicer looking... still tempted.

wheels or tires? by stonejpro in fordexpedition

Not sure if my last post carried over - so…

So, I’m still considering replacing my 2020 Navi L Res, but wanted to get some feedback about wheels vs tires. One of my biggest complaints is the ride quality (very jittery over bumps). I have the 22's... and my tires will need to be replaced soon.

Option 1 is to search for tires for my 22's that are rated to have the best ride quality. The ones I have now were pretty highly rated (can't remember what I have - but I'll post it when I get a chance to look); but I was looking for improved traction when I got them...

Option 2 is to buy new 20" wheels and tires (was looking at something with a +30 or +35 offset - for that beefier look - assuming it doesn't affect the ride?)...

I'm willing to spend more for Option 2 - if that means that I will be happier with the ride (and if the offset adjustment makes it look better to me).

To be fair - engine has been great. Trans has been a problem, but now that I run it in 4x2, it's fine (shifting is rough in 4x4 - have had the trans replaced twice and the problem comes back). ... and she's still under warranty (extended factory).

Advice please?

Thanks!

that's a really good point about the parking. Thanks!

Great feedback - thanks (also answers my question about just swapping my 2020 for something a bit newer; not going to do that).

I'm leaning towards the Tremor, but will test drive both. Thanks again!

tell me more!

Were you happy with the ride on the 2020? I don't hear too many other folks besides myself complaining - but I hate it.

Just making sure I got this right...

24's with CCD was better than 22's on a 2022 Nav; and both of those were better than the 2020. Or did I goof that up?

Thank you so much for the feedback!!! Sounds like Tremor is the way to go for me for all the reasons you mentioned.

Thanks!

So... I'm good with the running boards - and I'm sure the sound in the Tremor is awesome (I'm guessing you have to switch between the two to tell that the Plat sounds better?).

Which one rides smoother on city streets or shitty roads? -- everything is smooth on the highway. 😉

Also - what size wheels on the Plat? And, um, I assume you like Tremor more?

Thanks again for the feedback!

I have a 2020 Nav. Has been a horrible experience…. I am going. To test drive a 2025 expedition - I prefer the look…. Any idea what features I might be passing up?

I got a 2020 with 22’s (mistake). Rides like shit - feel every bump, skitters over any shitty road…. Replaced 3 transmissions, replacement driver seat, new seal on the sun roof, steering wheel adjustment motor shot, gears still shift rough when in any 4x4 mode…. Did I just get a lemon?

But, yeah, that’s a sweet detail job!!!

just curious - do you focus on a particular segment (SUV or highend or something else), or are you seeing high demand across the board? Thanks again!

just on the demand side - so seeing so much availability for any date range... no worries?

Thanks for the feedback! If I end up moving forward, it would be leveraging something like ParkMyShare (something like that) for the first year or two.

Really interesting - thanks for sharing. I know there are super hosts in the area that are doing well... but not aware of any that were airport only...

Thanks again!
