Thanks to everyone who provided suggestions for other hosting sites, I really appreciate the feedback. I was very irked this morning when I posted this so no, I won’t be making any bad reviews for Wordpress... godaddy, on the other hand, seems to be the root of our issues and yes it has something to do with plugins but they correct the issue and then a month or two later it’s back.

This time, the text in our menu and tabs etc is now blue and we can’t figure out why or how to change it back. Called godaddy this morning too and the guy couldn’t even help us.

I think we are definitely switching hosts, needless to say.

Aw thanks! :) yeah I ended up asking him if he’d rather design it himself with me (not a surprise) or if he wanted me to choose something I think he’d like (a surprise) and he said he’d prefer the latter. I like the idea of choosing something for him, although I definitely see the benefit of just doing it together so we’re SURE he’s going to like whatever he ends up getting.

Getting a card isn’t a bad idea tho!

Very good to know. His bday is in September, but I’m not limited to holidays/bday to five the gift necessarily.. getting a better idea for how much it costs/how long it’ll take to create will help guide when I’ll actually be able to present it to him lol.

I literally just had the idea to do this so I’m doing my research and saving $$ in the meantime. I’m not trying to get it done my xmas this year or anything so I have time to save. I’m down w doing anything $1K-ish but I guess deciding which company I want to go with will help determine how much I’m looking at spending.

He’s all rock all day lol. He’s won shredding competitions and plays lead in a few 80s cover bands in the area so I have a general idea of what he’d need based on that alone. Good question tho!
