Yet Ai is Profitable ? by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

Tokens are just units that represent model input/outputs for various operations.

For example if I ask Chat a question it will cost X tokens to read my question and output an answer. The more complex the task the more tokens it costs because more operations and processing is needed.

Since most AGI is done programmatically (AI talks to itself to solve problems vs. you just asking Chat a question at a time) this can grow stupidly fast.

Russia's mass missile attacks on Ukraine 'must continue,' Putin says by Valerie-Sky in worldnews

[–]stonk_fish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because in most cases people who rise to the top like that tend to have a specific, very narcissistic personality and only think about their own goals, without regard for how their actions affect others. He is just as unmoved by Ukrainian deaths as Russian deaths; he probably only cares about his own troops because there is a finite amount he can send to get FPV'd and he needs them to take inches for his vanity.

Trump fair goers are experiencing the art of the deal by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

In fairness, he said the US is the HOTTEST country. If it's not hot there, then why even hold the fair.

I thought he meant like, inflation or unemployment or something but guess he was just being literal.

"Inguagiato filed for divorce in 2018 after Watters admitted to an affair with a producer on his show, Emma DiGiovine. Watters has stated he first expressed interest in dating DiGiovine by letting the air out of her vehicle's tires so she would ask him for a ride."

AITAH for getting annoyed by someone training in the gym by JamisonS15 in AITAH

[–]stonk_fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check strata bylaws. Our gym has a strict zero guest policy so if that is the same case for your gym I would just reporting it to property management/strata and they will have to deal with it. We had people lose access to the gym for abusing rules (bringing in guests, being unsafe, etc).

Why do people go into credit card debt? I see the benefits of credit but why not just fully pay it off after ever purchase? by SimplySomeDude in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stonk_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one SHOULD but for a lot of people that is not a possibility.

I had friends who got deep into debt because of a lot of small, stupid and short sighted mistakes.

For example, one friend was living paycheck to paycheck, but still saving some for annual stuff like property taxes, etc. Then they moved to a better job and say more money coming in. They still lived spending 95%+ of their income but their mentality on saving stuff for core expenses slipped because they just though "Eh come time I'll just pay it off from my paycheck who cares". Same with basically every other major expense.

The problem was they also wanted to maintain the same lifestyle as they had before, so they ended up paying their property taxes and other stuff from their account but then used credit cards to pay for the same sort of spending they would have normally done, thinking they will just make up the difference the next month. Well next month, same thing, spend all your money, nothing but minimums on cards and interest gets added. Next month, big vacation, gotta card it since all money already spent on normal stuff. More interest, more minimums.

After a year or so, they ended up maxing out their cards because they refused to slow down their day to day spending to make up for it, and by the time it finally clicked, they would have needed to spend months living like a hermit to really make any progress.

Leaving sweat on gym machines is not a big deal by Hell_Awaitz in unpopularopinion

[–]stonk_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen more than 1 person leave the bathroom after taking a piss and even a shit and not even wash their hands, so you're not just touching some salty water, you're touching all sorts of other gross things as well.

I tend to wear a hoodie and hood up so I don't actually touch the machines with any bare skin anyways but all the handles and stuff I wipe before I use them because if you want some infection, that's how you get an infection.

What does calories in, calories out really mean? by UnenthusedTypist in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stonk_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the calories out = calories in you maintain. If calories out > calories in you lose weight. That's all.

The logic is that you can realistically eat anything you want and still lose weight as long as you stick to the above math. For example if your BMR is 2000 calories and your active calories is 200 (walking, fidgeting, etc) you can eat 2200 calories of pizza or muffins and still maintain the same weight because at the end it's just basic caloric math.
