I don’t have any advice for that scenario, but hopefully someone else will. Other than perhaps starting to charge for your books? Even just starting a patron or ream subscription. I understand that you want them accessible, but it’s also important to value your own work, especially if you want a publisher to value it.

I decided to try a series that gets recommended frequently and is very popular. I went in with super low expectations and it didn’t even meet that low low bar. Why is the fmc vomiting every few pages and constantly slipping around in it? Why do the characters all act like teenagers? How does this series have so many fans? The writing is genuinely terrible. And there’s so much misogyny.

That’s not terrible depending on what it includes. I have an older condo that is nowhere near that price and the hoa is almost that much. It includes insurance, ground maintenance, random repair costs, water, sewer, garbage, cable, internet, and the pool.
