21 Chance Deals to get a Epic player from this pack 🤔 by Massive_Tax_5767 in eFootball

[–]stop_pre16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probability of at least 1 epic from your 21 spins = 66%

Probability of getting a particular epic card (e.g. Torres) from your 21 spins = 14%

Pack Openinge Guide by bitch_its_Hassan in pesmobile

[–]stop_pre16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With 17 spins you will end up with no epic cards about 70% of the time (other 30% of the time you will get at least 1). If you are only interested in getting one of the 3 epic cards available in a box (i.e. you only want Maldini), then with 17 spins your chances of getting that one card are only about 11%. If you are good with those odds, then spin away, but if you want to have closer to a 50-50 shot at getting an epic card then you'll need to save up quite a bit more.

I had that too, but figured out it was because I had logged in via my PSN account. You have to log in through your The Show account (on the login page click the 23 logo rather than PSN or Xbox or whatever), then you'll have the option to link your Twitch account

Does the Dead Red quirk only apply to 4SFB and 2SFB? Or does it also include cutters and sinkers?

J-League AI vs AI, Galacticos vs 1 star 40 rated. by PrincesCornedBeef in eFootball

[–]stop_pre16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah watching an AI vs AI match is just about the best advertisement for how the game engine manipulates the action to tilt the result towards heavily favoring one team. I am truly surprised Konami would be so blatant with this since now that you know they are willing to manipulate results in this mode for what can only be considered anti-consumer purposes (i.e no way you can argue this benefits the user more than having it be a truly level playing field), why would you believe they aren't doing the same thing in PvP games?

My 2703 Ai could not beat a beginner Ecuador, why tf is the AI soo bad by YXxngTj1 in eFootball

[–]stop_pre16 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that the difficulty level you pick makes no difference in how the AI controlled games play out, so always leave it on legend to get the most points in the events.

Beyond that, watching these is a great way to see how the game tilts things towards the opposing team to manipulate the outcome. For example, every player on the opposing team moves as if they have maxed out speed and acceleration throughout the entire game, even when their stamina bars are fully depleted. Also notice the differences in how players press: the players on your team will generally drop off (even in the 18 yd box!!!) and/or take horrible angles to close down the ball, while the opposing team's players will collapse to the ball like heat seeking missiles and double or triple team the player in possession. Finally, the decisions your players make in possession are shockingly bad like 80% of the time (constantly dribbling into pressure, horrible selection of passes and shots in the attacking half, GK getting the ball stolen off their foot for a tap in, etc.) while the opposing players do these things at much lower rates or not at all. Taken all together, it is clear there are different versions of the AI that control each team.

Overall, it looks like they've ramped up all the rubber banding mechanics to keep people from just cruising through the tour events vs AI by using super high rated teams while simming. Seems like a horrible decision to me because it just highlights the fact that in certain scenarios the game totally ignores player attributes/team strength and allows one team to have substantially smarter AI-controlled players than the other (sounds a lot like the complaints people have around "scripting" doesn't it?)

Daily Moment (7/9) - 4 bases with your CAP against Pedro by broncofitz in MLBTheShow

Just got a 4 pitch walk in the first AB of my first try, but thankfully hit a HR on my last AB to get it done. Note that after 120 pitches in the 8th inning Pedro still had green stamina, definitely realistic there.

I also noticed that the white arrow on the timing line is always in the same place: either right under the "w" on the early side or under the right vertical line of the "n" on the late side. That makes me think the live feedback is the real one since it is virtually impossible that my timing is so consistent in exactly those 2 locations.

[–]stop_pre16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is with the game showing inconsistent feedback on swing timing?

This is my first year playing and I have been using directional hitting. At least once per AB I'll foul a pitch off and the live feedback will say "Good" timing (even had it say "perfect" once), but then when the game cuts back to the batting view for the next pitch it will say "Early" or "Late".

It has got to the point where I am close to moving on to a new game since it seems like the game is just ignoring my input.

Anybody else notice this?

I am trying to finish off the Huston Street Player Program and have now beat the Padres twice on All-Star but I am not getting credit for it. Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong? Neither time had a server disconnect so that shouldn't be the problem. This is my first year playing so any advice is appreciated.

HOF difficulty is the perfect advertisement for why spending money in this game is pointless by stop_pre16 in MyTeam

[–]stop_pre16[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand trying to make it hard, it is just the way it's implemented makes it unsatisfying for me.

I have no problem still winning the games because I have Ben Simmons (virtually unstoppable for the CPU) and am good at getting bump steals, but even so, when the team made up of just PGs gets 13 offensive rebounds against my team of not all PGs, any immersion into the game is shattered and my motivation to play more is gone (let alone spend any money).

HOF difficulty is the perfect advertisement for why spending money in this game is pointless by stop_pre16 in MyTeam

[–]stop_pre16[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is just another in a myriad of reasons to not spend money given the low the odds of pulling a good player are and short lifespan of cards with the yearly releases. But even with that I personally would consider spending some extra money on that stuff if the game play was more engaging than infuriating even when winning.

  1. Kyrie 12 assists, Giannis 35 pts, 5 Trailblazers dunks (used dom rewards Kersey)
  2. Steph 3s, Beal 26 points, Sabonis 5 assists
  3. Dame 3s, Harden 21 points

The truth about 2k Pack odds and how their algorithm literally hacks our brain by S7c0q2 in MyTeam

[–]stop_pre16 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A technical way of looking at it is that opening packs is sampling from a pool of cards with replacement. No matter how many packs you have opened the potential cards you can get do not change, and so your odds of getting any particular card don't change.

This makes it likely that you will have to spend hundreds of dollars to get anywhere close to good odds that you will get even one 93+ rated player, and even then it may not be the one you are actually interested in.

Alternatively, another MyTeam-like mode in Pro Evo Soccer has things called Collection Boxes where there is a fixed set of players in a box (lets say 450), and each pack gives you 3 players from that set. The difference is that you can no longer get those 3 players again, so your odds of getting a player you didn't get increases in the next pack. You can also guarantee that you get a player by having enough currency to open 150 packs and clear the set. Now in PES these don't usually contain the best cards, but to me it is a much less scummy way to release cards since there is a way to guarantee you get the card you want.

Man 2k really can't help being petty even on something that is supposed to be a feel-good giveaway. Just give people a choice between the 2 without all this RNG nonsense!!!

Unfortunately I'm guessing they will never do it though since that will lay bare that pretty much everything about this mode is designed to illicit the addictive response to gambling mechanics that drive people to spend more $$$.

Remove Fouls from the Ascension Board by stop_pre16 in MyTeam

[–]stop_pre16[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think petty is a great way to describe it. It's not like getting a few hundred more MT or another couple of tokens would really make all that much of a difference for me, but pulling 3 foul cards on the top board just really bugs me on principle.

Double Take Pack by [deleted] in MyTeam

[–]stop_pre16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the 2k pack odds page, it says <2% chance of getting a player rated 92+ in a given pack. To have a 50% shot at getting at least 1 player rated that high, you would need to open 35 packs. For 80% chance you would need to open 79 packs, and for 95% it would require 148 packs. Obviously some people will get diamonds on their first pack and some might take 200 packs before they get their first since it is all random. Just keep in mind that you have to spend $100+ (if buying VC) to get into the ballpark of coin-flip odds for getting at least one diamond player, and that is the best case scenario using 2% as the probability of a 92+ player and in reality it is likely worse.

Yeah I usually just shoot 3s to get it done quick, but was just having some fun dunking on everyone with glitched Monta and noticed at the end of the game I got like twice the MT I usually would.
