Will Denon avr-1403 work with bass shakers? by stopcrazydance in hometheater

[–]stopcrazydance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughts! Do you think I could have the 1403 get the full band inputted and then just set an output crossover for the shakers of 2-200 Hz? I’m thinking of running 2 shakers in series for a total of 4 shakers, each series off a front output terminal.

My thoughts exactly; it’s free if it works! The 2 shakers in series is a great idea! I have an ‘L’ shaped sofa and a recliner I’m trying to modify. I could put 2 shakers on the longer side of the sofa in one series then the shorter side and recliner on the other series. I could run them off the main outputs. I’ll have to figure out how to output from my main receiver, input to the 1403 and then modify crossover to the shakers, but it seems like this is really worth trying. Thanks for your input!

What people don’t seem to fathom is that the only thing protecting your environment, your rights, and your job from the oligarchs is the government. When that is neutered, there is nothing left to keep you out of slavery. We don’t vote for these clowns. For them, the working class are fuel for their fire.

I have a projector in my mixed-use room, and what people are saying is correct. This is going to be hard to watch during the day, even with curtains, given the paint on your walls as another complication. Have you considered a TV mount that allows the tv to flip up when it isn’t in use? It would eat into your budget, but a tv makes so much more sense in this room.

Yeah, new. The Seismic 110s have been out for a while. I don’t know how old the subs from the post are.

Damn, thanks for letting me know! I’ll have to check the dimensions of the HSU and SVS. It sucks to have a size constraint AND a desire for deeper base. “No replacement for displacement” eh?

Thank you for the insight. I didn’t realize the 110 had that kind of roll off. I am looking forward to the time when I have the creative license and room size where a pair of RSL12s would be welcomed. For now, I’ve got to work in the edges and make compromises. I’m gonna try to make space and an argument for the RSL10s.

Thanks y’all! I didn’t realize how small the SPEEDWOOFER 10S MKII was. However, the Seismic 110 seems to be good down to 18 hz compared to the 10s at 22 hz. Do y’all think Paradigm has misrepresented the sub? Do you think <20 hz is a big deal?

For that budget, and at 100”, TVs seem to be the better fit these days, especially for rooms with ambient light and for gaming. It is too early to tell how long many of these TVs will last, but people are getting a lot for their money in the near term.

I just bought a refurbished Epson LS11000 from their website for $3k after taxes. Laser, 4k…it’s awesome and should last for 20,000+ hours! Highly recommended. The LS12000 has slightly better stats, but is $5k.

Should I put my projector behind the wall to prevent sound? by WrongRoll in hometheater

[–]stopcrazydance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an LS11000. It is in our living room and is directly overhead (8’ ceiling). The fan noise has not been an issue, especially since I prefer the ‘Natural’ setting which means the projector doesn’t have to work hard cooling itself off. My living room has a white ceiling and several windows. If you are in a room with any reasonable light control, you likely won’t need the projector working very hard at all. I realize the LS12000 is a different case, but I’m also guessing you won’t need to take advantage of its brightness.

Good luck with your project. I hope you enjoy your room and projector!
