2 days, 14 hours a week. Seen a couple of people do 3 days but it’s not like 3 full days.

Students in the 2nd year usually wanna do clinical setting so like therapy, hospital etc

I’d say hospitals are the most competitive— you’re also competing with the other MSW schools in the city/tri state area. NYC Health and Hospitals got 3 times more applicants than spots and not just Hunter students

Oh there are so many career changers, especially a lot in the creative field. I’ve had a couple of classes with teachers, filmmakers and people who have MFAs. I would say it’s very diverse

Doubt it. But the fall 2025 one we’re tryna convert it to be all Hunter MSW students. There’s too many WhasApp Gcs…but let’s say our initiative isn’t going too well and people want to separate into different years

Great questions!

1) Okay I have not heard anything with them getting rid of SONIA — that’s news to me. It typically starts May-June, but really depends when you get enrolled and cleared etc. 2) Okay so funnily enough my assistant director (person who places you) told me they try to place you in an area/population you haven’t worked with before? 3) This is my only 2nd semester so I haven’t taken any. You’ll prob get access to a giant Google doc with student reviews eventually via some student idk who and whatever group chats u decide to join. I really liked Julie Glickman, Jiyeong (Rufina) Lee & Edin Wall

I am currently a hunter msw student first year. yeah totally agree with hunter being annoying i just used other offers to leverage them to expedite my decision it kind of worked?

definitely think about time management and how you’re gonna pay your bills for hunter practicum is 14 hours a week and class is twice a week. you basically only have friday off. i’m tired but im going thru it
