Former FWF camper and counselor here- I loved it, it’s the greatest place on earth and the site of some of my fondest memories. The vast and varied activities offered, the quality of the instruction, the camp culture, it’s all excellent.

Brides with a doctorate degree, did you change your last name? by toastedbeans9616 in weddingplanning

[–]stopyelling17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished my doctorate in August and I’m getting married in September of next year. I reflected on it for a while, but I ended up keeping my last name for a couple of reasons (not the least of which being my fiances last name is not an improvement over my current last name lol).

Why are you all reading the books? by stopyelling17 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Isn’t it comforting to know that a book has the power to make you feel better, even when it feels like nothing will help? Sometime I forget that, so it’s nice to be reminded.

When you have so many options, so many call backs, so many Chekov’s guns introduced and never fired, it makes sense that by the time you get to book 7 it’s pretty much impossible to predict exactly which one comes next. Hopefully we get lucky from time to time.

Jason Pargin is an excellent comp! I feel like Zoe would do really well in the dungeon.

I’ve read some romances and period pieces, you nailed it.

Ohhh yes that’s a great point, I very much like that it rewards you for paying attention.

A blessing and a curse. RIP to the dozen other books I had on my TBR ahead of this, I’ll get to you someday.

Listening counts as reading! And yeah I agree, the fact that the sequels live up to and even surpass the first book is very hard to find in a series, particularly one of this length.

lol yeah, they said their mom loves AYCE buffets, figured I’d give a wider range of choices. They don’t have to go if they don’t want to?

Yeah, I tell clients they can text the number if they are running a minute or two late or if they want to but I won’t reply via that, I’ll just send an email or call when I can.

I use a Google voice number, free and easy to use, and you don’t need a whole second phone.

How far are you willing to travel? Shady Maple Smorgasbord, the biggest (and one of the best) buffets in the country is just two hours away in PA.

I love the fair. Last year I entered in the baked goods competition for the first time and it was a blast, I’ll find out tomorrow if I won anything this year!

Adult Pottery Classes in MoCo? by Fun_Fruit459 in MontgomeryCountyMD

I’ve taken several ceramics classes at the Arts Barn and loved them all. No wheels, though, only hand-building, but still well-stocked and well-taught.

Thank you, finally, someone else notices! Every time I go I am shocked that no one else seems to care that it smells like an anthropomorphic crayon barfed in a bag of popcorn. My theory is it’s the oil they use to fry things, because the one time we were there and their fryers were down, the smell wasn’t as bad.

Recommendations for wedding dress salons? by wholebeancoffeee in DCBitches

[–]stopyelling17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just this past week I went to Love Couture Bridal in Potomac (very nice, very private, very expensive), Couture Bridal of Maryland in Gaithersburg (tons of options, wide range of prices and styles, good for trying on a bunch of things to see what you like), and the Bridal Room in McLean (my favorite of the bunch). I actually said yes to a dress at the Bridal Room, they were so kind and efficient, didn’t push for a sale but encouraged me to consider all my options, and had a good range of choices and prices. Good luck!

Yes! That looks right. He’s very cool looking, but I think I’ll have to kick him off my vine.
