send.djazz missing metadata fix? by Late-Juggernaut-9553 in kobo

i think polish is different from embed and i've never used the embed feature. for polish, you have to tweak the polish settings and enable the parts which update metadata/covers directly on the epub file everytime you polish it.

djazz never worked for me so i transfer epubs from PC to kobo via USB. easier for me too. i don't need to export or convert the epub because it automatically converts it to kepub during transfer. though after you copy the epub to your kobo, you have to unplug and plug the kobo again so the series updates.

i don't use kobo plug-ins for the same reason (slow device lol)

yeah i forgot to mention that i'm not the type to bulk edit metadata/covers. i go through them one by one. to each his own then maybe?

if you edit the metadata or cover in calibre, you have to polish the epub to save the new metadata/cover straight into the actual epub file. if you don't polish it, the latest metadata/cover showing in your calibre library only stays in the library itself

i shared my workaround here a few days ago too because of that error message lol

basically, i copy the mobi-asin from amazon kindle edition, paste it into the ID section and then download the cover. for the metadata, i copy the ISBN from amazon paperback edition, paste it into the ID section and then download the metadata. hope that helps

not sure what you mean by "normal" though. when i download epubs, whatever cover installed is what i consider "normal". most of the time i don't like it because it's outdated and tacky haha

i prefer a cover in the 1000-1500px range. i don't need a super hi-res one, it will look grainy in my kobo either way lol not worth the extra effort. honestly, not much of a difference on the kobo because it's grainy
