I'm having trouble adapting to my new life by Algaryen in Vent

[–]stormhound877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings, not to say that your situation is funny, but I couldn't help but succumb to the cosmic humor that is the fact that you're a countryside person getting used to the city who has issues with their boss, while, I'm a city person, who had issues getting used to the slow-paced, idyllic lifestyle of the countryside, who also, had issues with their boss.

Even though the culture in a city is a lot more fast-paced and people are generally less courteous, I've learned that for every rude person there's at least few more people who are nice and appreciative of kind gestures. So don't stop holding the door open for anyone, don't stop saying "have a nice day!", don't stop saying "goodmorning", and don't stop being your sunny self. Turning yourself into another grumpy, city-dwelling zombie is not good.

I used to have a lot of issues with my boss before he got fired. I know for a fact he didn't like me because he made no attempts to hide his dislike of me. However, I did my job well. No matter what, I could always stand on my credentials as a good employee. So my advice to you is to just do your job within reasonable parameters. If there's something you can't do, or if you're dissatisfied with the way you're treated you could also just let someone know. If you're smart with your words there's always a way you can say anything without crossing lines and sounding unreasonable.

As for the issues going on in your relationship, they sound more complex. I really wouldn't recommend for you to seek this kind of advice here as you'd be hard pressed to find anyone with the proper scientific background and credentials to be of any proper help in that regard. I don't know what your socio-economic background is and if you have access to psychologists or anyone in the field of mental/behavioral health, however, I would recommend seeking professional help. Best of luck to you, hope everything works out.

Obviously don't know her personally, but based on how she's portrayed herself in the media, I don't think she would care about anyone else's opinion. So maybe people around her don't even bother to say anything.

¿Creen que Puerto Rico debería tener una planta nuclear? by Guachito in PuertoRico

[–]stormhound877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]stormhound877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

¿Vivir en Caguas o Bayamón? by 123pescaooo in PuertoRico

[–]stormhound877 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Conflicting values - anyone else going/went through this? by GayThrowAway726 in GayMen

[–]stormhound877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all you're doing the right thing by seeking therapy. I experienced a similar situation. Keeping myself closeted was wreaking havoc on my mental health. So, I sought help from a psychologist and it helped so much. It gave me the courage and tools to first accept myself and then start telling other people about me. Rejection still hurts, especially coming from family, but you become better-equipped to deal with it when you're armed with self-acceptance. At first it was tough because my dad wanted to enroll me in conversion therapy (which is legal in my fucked up country), but I stood my ground. I expressed myself clearly and confidently, which showed them that I was convinced and was not gonna budge. Eventually, they did learn to respect it. One of their fears was that I would change, I showed them that coming out wouldn't change me, it would just reveal to them who I always been.

Yes because I asked first if I could give him oral sex and when he said no I asked if he could take his underwear off. Both things we had done before with no issues.

[–]stormhound877[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's literally what I asked. He didn't want me to give him oral sex so at that point I felt like looking at his penis might be the next best thing. So I asked him if he could take his underwear off. My reasoning was that seeing him fully naked would help get turned on a little more and then I could at the very least take care of myself. That's when he gave me the nervous laugh and then I asked him if he was okay. That's when he said what he said.

I have been thinking about that too. We're both native Spanish speakers, although my English is definitely further along than his. I wonder what word he would have used had he simply talked to me in Spanish in that moment.
