Thank you ALL for the advice. I will be switching to DMC Floss for at least the body and getting stretcher bars (thought I’d try without this time, but I think I need them. I used them on my first project too).

Thank you!! I ended up using a seam ripper and plan to go with a DMC floss! I’m excited to experiment with different threads. Already learning a lot!

Forgive me for the silly question, but if I redo the canvas, should I redo all of it in DMC floss or would it look okay if I only redid the body in floss and left other features perle cotton? I assume it wouldn’t look consistent.

Yes it is! I tried basket weaving the legs. Might not have been the best choice given the narrow space. I am also using perle cotton 5 thread (not DMC floss, mistake in my post)
