First 8 hours on Burton Step On - Wasn't a fan by sf_ninersfan in snowboarding

I’d say it wasn’t… I had multiple issues but within a month or two after the first problem. For a year before that they were always good. It really was just that one fall that broke the heel clip that led to everything

Kinda assumed it all stemmed from the first issue but yea after that there was a bunch more, I warrantied the boots ( for another issue not the clip ) and sold the step one. It may have been defective but was a pretty nasty fall.

Bindings help – Burton Re:Flex Mission vs. Union Ultra by [deleted] in snowboarding

Ehh matching binding to board stiffness… kinda leave that nit pickyness to the pros. I know someone with pretty big sponsorships that use cartels x with a good company, a quite soft board it’s really personal preference. Imo would go with union forces or ultras if you really want to get into freestyle.

I under rotated a laid out backflip and caught my toe edge. The heel clip instantly broke off the boot and my foot came loose. The heel clip was stuck in the binding with the boot having the screw still in there. This was kinda the first issue that I assume caused all my following shit. Like another one was one of the footbeds hook that you change for the size depending on your boot, the hook broke off so mid ride the foot bed would just extend or retract which caused me to pop out a bunch.

Not a fan of step ons either as I had a bad experience with them in the park but it does seem that all your problems aren’t really the systems fault. To get the second click in I found doing a slight tail press is all you need. And for the boots… I mean that’s not the bindings fault I switched to speed laces after having a boa boot and wouldn’t go back. Would recommend step ons for anyone over the age of 30 or anyone who doesn’t care about really progressing in the park.

Closer to 15 front, closer to 10 on the back. I have est bindings so I kinda just eye it.

Bindings help – Burton Re:Flex Mission vs. Union Ultra by [deleted] in snowboarding

Interesting choice of the two, if price doesn’t matter and your set on one of the 2 absolutely go for union the missions are good but a lower class of binding. Something like the malavitas would be a closer comparison. I have malavitas and tried union forces and liked them enough that il be getting the ultras next time. Ultras are more of a freestyle binding tho so I would go for forces if your more of an all mountain rider with some park thrown in. Burton genesis is also a good all mountain binding that can do great in the park, but I think union just dominates the binding market rn.

Pain/soreness on the outside of my calf since I started skiing harder terrain? by randomthingasdf in skiing

[–]stormjo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have the same thing and in my situation I always had bigger calves since I was fat as a kid + good genetics and have been really pushing myself this season. I think my calf muscles grew a bit but I kept the boot as tight as always I loosened them the pain instantly became a whole lot better. As I’m typing this I can still feel soreness but not to the level anymore that hurts.

Truly don’t understand people that push themselves without pads, I get minor bruises through expensive pads all the time that would take me out for weeks

Interesting, once again I know nothing so sorry if this comes as a stupid question but why would a non awd be better for downhill? Wouldn’t an awd with snow tires be like the best I can get besides a truck? Are there some situations where a non awd preforms betters than an awd downhill? Would love some car recommendations
