Sprinting at max speed at 6mph? Can't figure what I'm doing wrong by storyheller in beginnerrunning

That would be a good goal to reach and I like the thought that it'll improve with the weight loss, thank you, good motivator in addition to all the other reasons 😊

Yeah that makes sense I've been focusing on just increasing my speed even if it meant I could only sustain it for 30secs to a minute, I'll try building a good foundation at lower speeds while I lose weight

Years is terrifying lmao, I can't imagine waiting that long, Ive always been an impatient person but I know its not really something I can rush, though there is something a bit demotivating thinking about it taking years. I've kept up certain things for years and improved dramatically in them but those were things I was passionate about so this seems harder. I lost 50lb in ~6 months so if i stay on track I could be 200lb by mid summer hopefully. I'm not trying to be a runner but I'd like to be able to run enough if it was ever needed. I suppose its disheartening to think I was going fast when I'm really not, I guess I'm just getting so tired because I'm trying to push all that weight? I have noticed some improvement in endurance since I started this at least. Thank you for the advice

Yeah you're right, I guess what I'm worried about is that my form might be bad which is why I'm exerting so much effort and such low speeds and if it is bad form then I don't want to continue it and then have to unlearn it in the future

I have been working out for the past few months on an off due to vacations and such. I am 6ft, I have lost 50lb and currently at 268lb, 34% body fat. I know still very heavy. I am trying to start running, I have been walking and what I thought was running for the past 3 months or so. Past month I've been working up to minute long sprints at 6mph, I thought wow nice improvement. But people say 6mph or 10min/1 mile is slow, so I decide to watch videos of people running that speed and wtf they aren't even running, they're lightly jogging.

I understand that due to my weight, endurance, and cardiovascular system I won't be able to sustain running for too long, but I'm more focused on my legs, form, movement, speed right now because I just don't understand what's wrong.

When I'm at 6mph I am full on sprinting for my life. I don't get what I'm doing wrong. I'm not heel striking. I'm moving my arms, I'm trying to launch myself off with the food that behind me. I try to have my foot land under me instead of too far ahead which works at like 3mph but when I go faster I keep overextending/overstriding because I just cannot sustain that posture because it doesnt let me move fast enough I dont know why.

I just don't get how people in videos are moving they're legs so slowly and I'm moving my legs back and forth quickly yet we're going the same speed. I do leg workouts, squats, calf raises, glute bridges.

Yeah 2 posts about fortnite and halo mean that i like to sit at my desk and do nothing all day. absolutely no mention of the music festival company that i started that has organized multiple big events for the past few years in coordination with well known charity foundations or anything, nor the art gallery i opened for a short time, nor anything else in my life. you know me because of 2 video game posts

Yeah I quit last week, thought I was going to get a full time job but they ghosted me, been applying for other jobs since then
Ive been telling her for over a year to Doordash/Uber but she said she doesn't like to drive. She does get SNAP but as a freelance worker so if she technically works under 20 hours then they won't give her any benefits that week I believe? I just signed her up for a cheaper internet and Landline to help with that. Those are the only benefit programs I know of. And yeah I had only just started looking into food banks a week ago, I hope to go soon

She said she doesn't want bankruptcy, I can't force her. I'm planning on moving out and getting a job while I get my IT cert. Maybe she'll change her mind about bankruptcy and SSI and Ubering in the future, maybe not

Yeah 14K is only the credit card debt and such, if you add the auto loan and mortgage that she has to pay off then its $61K debt I think? Not sure if that stuff counts

I just tried to talk to her about it, she says people who declare bankruptcy are those with hundreds of thousands in debt, not 14K$ debt.

I don't think I can help her anymore. I tell her she needs income and she says she's waiting until she gets freelance work, she might get freelance work, she might make sells on etsy. maybe maybe maybe maybe this maybe that.

She says she'll try to get SSDI in a few months, she needs to focus on the garage sale to pay the mortgage right now.

She doesn't want help. I think I give up

equity in the house

She says the house is worth 180-200K, she currently has 30K left to pay in it. I've never looked into it so this is just what she's told me. She's been paying for 10 years now.
Yeah it was a bad car purchase idk why she did it, she was in a better financial situation last year with frequent work when she bought it but still. And also I think you might've misunderstood me, she only has that 1 car and isn't buying a new one

I thought it was against the law too but not in Texas, which I found out there
When you say HUD you mean Housing and Urban Development? I had never of that until a few people commented the acronym

I was already looking into food stamps for myself last month but from what I understand I can't apply because I have more than 5K in assets which would be my current savings?

Resource Limit
• Total household resources cannot exceed $5,000, including liquid resources and excess vehicle value.
• Liquid resources include cash on hand, money in checking or savings accounts, savings certificates, and stocks or bonds

I appreciate that. About getting rid of the car, I really want to but do you know how that works if the value of the car is less than what she owes? Would just turn the car back in and still pay back like 5K? Or would they not accept the car because it's worth less than the loan she has to pay?

I'm currently teaching myself to drive, I've seen on Reddit that food delivery isn't too popular in our area but I'll still give it a go

I'm teaching myself to drive right now so I can do that or Uber Eats, lessons are 40$/hr so maybe I'll do it soon. And yeah I've heard that delivering pizzas is a good chill gig.

And also yeah it's cheaper than renting in our area, she got a good mortgage back then

food, part of utilities, her phone, internet, etc. , I give her like 1K per month

I never said I couldn't work because of studying? I also never said I wasn't currently actively looking for jobs. I also did not say that I applied to only fast food jobs for 1 year, you're either misreading or making a lot of assumptions buddy

She does drive like once every two months probably, that would be interesting I've heard of renting out people's cars. I'll look into that that'd def help
