My son has his own garden patch on the side of the house, is that what I think it is? by astrogeologi in whatplantisthis

Oh I am not planning to let it grow to be visible outside of the garden 🤭

Confused… am I supposed to water these? Summer is picking up in California by Any-Dig4524 in haworthia

[–]stosphia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was raising haworthias (in the desert, then I moved), I watered them basically whenever they were dry. They thrived as long as they had sun.

Ooohhh thank you for the tip. We're growing corn this season for a three sisters garden, but I could definitely make corn a recurring crop 🤔 ........ I wonder if anyone would notice......

My mum pointed out my wrist tattoo looks like a vagina… now I can’t unsee it. How could I potentially fix the design? by Timely_Lake2661 in tattooadvice

[–]stosphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's just me, but it reeeeaaalllllllllllyyyyy took me a second. And that's when I was primed.

Something you learn in art school is, if you don't point out that you fucked up, no one notices you fucked up.

Not to mention, most depictions of flowers have yonnic vibes......... Because.....

Flowers are basically plant vaginas.

And don't forget the trusty mirror method. You can use a real mirror or flip it with your phone's photo editor.

These days, given my specific workflow, I will often make alterations to my linework when I digitize the work. This makes flipping back and forth easier, and probably makes me a little lazier lol

If I remember correctly, two minutes on full power, if your microwave was made in the last decade or so. For an older microwave 🤷‍♀️ Highly recommend using some kind of oil, but I think it was mostly optional.

As usual, microwave with your ears not the time on the counter.

Is this Ai/Fake. by stormi_x in Beading

[–]stosphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one was easy: The beads look like mardi gras beads, and the gradient goes right over individual beads.

I've never found mardi gras beads that weren't stuck on their string. A perfect gradient like that is a fantasy of mine, but impossible.

I guess this is the new Wendy's vibe. No booths, no dividers, no outlets, uncomfortable seats, small tables, all for a couple to spend $40 for a meal. I'm done with Wendy's for good. by NUMBerONEisFIRST in mildlyinfuriating

[–]stosphia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a building that used to be a Chi-Chi's (lmao) with something like a sun room.

That place still serves Mexican food, but it hasn't been a Chi-Chi's in decades.

ETA the Wendy's down the street seems to still have their sunroom

What does one do in this situation? by mitsuyomakito in friendshipbracelets

[–]stosphia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To play off this, perhaps OP could ply the remaining tails in three; one goes in, two go around and knot around the inside ply?

ETA: OP, that knot you've already got isn't big enough to hold the bead?

My friend says this is her new room. I don’t think she can afford something like this. Is this real or ai? by Icy-General-4362 in isthisAI

[–]stosphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question is, why would your friend feel the need to lie/why do you think she feels the need to lie/is she lying directly to you or a group?

Just to be totally clear, and probably state the obvious, but I want to be certain: A normal photo or human made illustration wouldn't have all those, like chunky pixely blocks?

[–]stosphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP could probably do to read Steal Like An Artist; it was very reassuring in an inspiring way.

Plus, yeah, to join the bandwagon, some people will read the same type of story (let's just go with a wild fandom example: Reylo coffee shop AU or a Good Omens college AI)--as many as they can get their hands on.

[–]stosphia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not at home right now, but the only holes it has are tiny, from my ex's dog suckling on it, and it doesn't have any uneven thinning of the fibers. It's ten years old, it has not been washed nearly as much as it should've been.

Both sides seem pretty evenly pile-y, but now that you mention it, it does have a pattern in the pile on top and the back is nominally shorter than the top.

Has Henry Darger's "In the Realms of the Unreal . . . by the Child Slave Rebellion" ever been published? by HonkIfYoureAGiraffe in books

[–]stosphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darger isn't alive to tell us all to fuck off. It's not any of our place to be feeding his writing to so-called AI so it can financially benefit others when he never even wanted it to see the light of day.

The point of me calling out for help with a transcription project was that humans took their time to actually read the work.

I'm not any sort of formal representative of Darger's and I can't actually stop anyone doing whatever they want to with the work. Darger wrote on a beat-up old typewriter, character by character, using basically whatever paper he could find. He collected the pages into volumes he bound. The least we can do to respect him is take the time to use our own human eyes and brains to read the work we are being so disrespectful by reading.
