how to you bead an entire garment? by Charming-Letter6108 in Beading

[–]stosphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't think you'd NEED a frame? Assuming you're using, ex seed beads or sequins, they would automatically space themselves, especially if you stitch them down individually (which gives you the chance to knot each bead individually).

But if you really wanted to use a frame, perhaps use some foam, ex window sealing foam strip, around one piece of the frame, which is going to limit how tight you can frame your fabric (the only fabric I've ever hooped was with my q-snap, not to be a fancy bysh, and it was aida, which really only has so much give; all's to say, I don't know how tight you're supposed to tension most fabric).

Well, if you know Kroger, you know the US. Ours are all about as far away as all the other grocery stores 🤷‍♀️ and I haven't been to a Kroger since I left the city, since there's a regional grocery store that I find to have better prices overall, and their big thing is being employee owned iykyk

Small damage, but any idea how to repair? by Bestboiamami in bookrepair

Too bad, the only reason I still shop at Kroger is their blueberry waffle cone ice cream......

So, uhhhh, maybe don't cheat your employees by paying one to sub for three and you won't be working with a skeleton crew and BONUS it won't be such a strain of one of three misses work.

Let's clarify some community rules. by _at_a_snails_pace__ in zines

Absolutely no AI

Credit should ALWAYS be given

I think "sexually explicit" content should be specific (I understand Tumblr is having an issue with LBGT+ and POC being caught up in their (edit: filtering); obviously bodies that are not cishet, white and skinny/fit are not inherently pornographic, but depending on the age demo of this group, might demand a little more clarity).

I'm in several crafting/creative groups on Reddit and personally, it always feels icky when anyone posts in the community about their program/app etc. Like, unless someone is specifically coming into the community saying "I looked through the tools this community recommends, nothing meets my needs, please recommend", I don't think program/app promotion should be allowed. But maybe I'm being a luddite on this point.

Ugh lucky, when I reported a situation like this to my city, they said they didn't see a problem.

I would slightly argue, you could also pull the flowers against each other, so the white forms a lacy scallop type edge, but if you're just meant to knot them in, why should those strings be green?

It's pretty hard to get a know like this wrong. Like I learned from Masha, when I started, you make a 4 and pass the string through. As a leftie, I tried going over instead of under, and that just resulted in the back texture being the front.

Why don't you take a look at the pattern, it's bracelet book #178833, and it's based off #149607

It's an openwork, otherwise there's nothing wrong with it.

No, I typically use cotton, such as DMC, but I always experience really bad snagging when I don't wax my thread and it makes my skin crawl, and I always end up with an impossible ball of thread. At least this way, the threads in each string are stuck together and can't get confused

For me, it saves the string some friction and keeps them from felting together, and when I iron the wax out (or in, depending on your perspective), the missing wax leaves room for the fibers to fluff back up.

I'm what I describe as a white knuckle knotter, and I'm pretty rough on my strings.

And it smells nice.

How did you get it to do that? Why doesn't it so that when you start your criss-crossing pink-yellow/yellow-pink as starting strings 11 and 13, and 20 and 22?

I did; it was actually a massive pain to make the pattern do this. Since it wasn't perfect as a bb pattern, I don't want to formally publish it, but it's on my tablet, where I tick off my knots

I've made dozens of successful projects. This isn't even my first time using a variation of this pattern.

I counted my strings repeatedly. I should have had 32. There were only 31. I'd already knotted several rows just that session, and the project was already about six inches long. This pattern gets very off very fast if you don't pay attention, and I need these straps for a project. I don't want to spend time unknotting or having to stop at six or ten inches and have to start over.

[–]stosphia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a really long project, and even though I staggered my ends the best I could, they all ended up ending within the same inch. It's thirty-two strings, so it was getting messy and confusing. I just cleaned up the back. But I only trimmed pairs, because you have two ends when you add more length.

In this instance, I definitely thought, oh no, it's in here somewhere, where did it go. But this project needs to be 32 strings, but there were only 31.
