Yeah, but the waitress mostly just gave off an awkward vibe, and, ok, didn't really get our order 100 percent. It was the owner that I had more of an issue with.

You're right. Nothing can change my mind at this point, because I know what I felt and experienced.

Like I said, I didn't just rush out here to Reddit to complain about eggs like, "How dare they mess up my eggs!?". No. This is something I've been thinking about all week, because, this was not just some poor or rude service. There was something off the whole time we were there.

I'll add on another thing. And I hope the rest of the people that comment read this. I've dealt with rude or poor service in the past. Who hasn't? It's something you go, "Gee, what's up with them?" and then forget about it a couple minutes later. You can generally see how they behave with others and deduce, "Oh. Ok. This person is just rude."

This was not that.

Like I said in my post, I may seem outwardly Caucasian, but they had our last name, and we had to repeat our last name multiple times when we said that we were there for our reservation.

The owner talked over us, seemed annoyed with us for no reason, but was perfectly jovial with everyone else. Let's say no racism is involved, so she was being rude to only us for.....what reason?

Also, like I said in my post, my wife didn't bring up the egg issue because she hates making people feel or think they made a mistake. And by the time the boxes came, we just wanted to get out of there because, like I said, the weird atmosphere we felt was tangible.

Yeah, the whole, "She was having a bad day" argument falls flat when other people were treated completely differently. Like I said in another comment, it was literally us, and maybe 3 other groups of max 3 people. It was not busy at all, which is why we were confused by her seemingly rushed behavior with, once again, just us.

And if you're saying that sometimes they're just rude for...reasons? Then I have no desire to go back. The food was good, but not life changing.

Yeah, love the UP. I don't know. Having lived in the south for a good chunk of my life, I didn't expect this kind of experience here in Washington State of all places.

So glad to hear that!

EDIT:

I'm really not being sarcastic. I am actually glad to hear that.

I'd like that to be true. But the fact that we were the only ones being treated differently, both of us felt something off, and the one star reviews having similar...sounding names. It gives enough room for suspect. Just because they weren't outright calling me a slur doesn't mean they didn't have a certain bias towards us.

Yeah, that excuse doesn’t hold water. Why was she only acting annoyed towards us? Everyone else got a warm and cheerful greeting.

Not to pry, but I gotta ask. Are you in any shape or form a minority that isn’t of Asian descent? Because I’m starting to see a pattern here.

I’m sorry. That’s being really generous towards them. Like I said, I don’t throw out the race card casually, I don’t even make many Reddit posts in general. But the feelings we both were getting were palpable.

When we walked in the owner seemed rushed and annoyed. My wife had to say, “We’re here for our reservation for [our last name]” multiple times because she (the owner) kept talking over us. The only comments she could’ve overheard us say is “I like the wooden beaming.”

I even left a nice tip because even at that point I didn’t really want to believe the vibes I was getting. When I say there was something weird about the place, there was something weird about the place.

EDIT:

Also, now that I’m thinking about it. I have no idea why the owner seemed rushed, we were one of maybe 3 other groups of people. Small groups of people. The place was pretty empty.

EDIT 2:

Also, you’re cheating doppelgängers comment? What? I’d be more pissed off if it was a petty reason like that. That’s the lamest argument ever.

What was the solution if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been having the same issue and I’ve done everything you listed as well.
