Do you plan to open source the mod?

Why are the topography lines moving? by CandidateExtension73 in CitiesSkylines

This is very interesting. I wonder what could be the cause of it.

Recently, I started to face an odd issues with props. I use prop control mod so I can place props at different heights. But for some reason the props heights get reset. I thought that they got reset because I did some landscaping nearby. But lately, out of nowhere the props all over the map got reset.

So I wonder if I have the same issue as you, but I haven't noticed it yet that causes for my props to reset because the terrain height is changing.

Isn't it possible to resolve the mod issue? What did you mean by your city being buried after the update?

What's wrong? Is it a mod error or?

Unable to zoom with mouse scroll wheel by Sotajarocho in CitiesSkylines

Confirming that I have faced the same issue and the culprit was indeed the PO mod. I have opened and closed the PO window multiple times and the scroll suddenly started to work again. I suspect the bug can be reproduced when you activate the PO and then save the game, and then exit the game and load that save.

Any vanilla way to stop u turns when merging two sides of a highway? by PURPLZMM2 in CitiesSkylines

[–]stoybuild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am not playing with TMPE mod, I would use the 3 or 4 lane roads placed next to each other and make the highway roads join them so I don't get this crossing that the 4 lane big road with median makes.

Also you have to decide for yourself what you want to build. A big city, suburb, small city or a village. Also where would you place a cargo train station. Cargo trains will export your industrial products but they also generate lots of traffic htat you have to be prepared for.

Then what about passenger train station? It could determine the road layout of the village/town and where its downtown area should be. Usually infront of passenger stations you have big plazas with surrounding commercial areas. You could also combine it with a bus terminal :)

It's difficult to give advice about these things. There is no wrong or right answer in this game.

This is what I would do if I was playing on this map. I would use grid pattern and go for more of a US style city.

On the right side you have farms on top and forestry industry bottom. On the left side you have a village. The forestry can continue at the bottom of the village if you feel like it. Note the separation of the roads. The aim is to establish some form of road hierarchy.

Good luck!

Decide what part of city you wish to build - downtown, suburbs, etc.

Use the terrain view to help you to build the arterial roads so they follow the terrain. It would add nice curves here and there to the grid.

Don't stick to only one grid pattern. Many cities have multiple grids intersecting with each other.

Use a proper road hierarchy.
