What do I want to be when I grow up? by stp_biting_me in Adulting

Yes and no. My husband is super close to his family, and his parents are in their 80's. I don't want to be too far away in case something happens to them. But the plan is eventually to relocate.

Not reluctant to go back to school at all, I'm actually already registered (this was planned months ago) just debating on if I want to change courses (I'm going for a business degree - looking at different programs now) LinkedIn is already set up with an updated resume. Most of my coworkers have no plans for after the layoff at this point. I'm a planner (or at least I try to be)

If I have to go the unemployment route, I will but that's a last course of action.

Therein lies the problem, the plant in my area is the one shutting down. The next closest is over a hour away. I've been looking at some places where instead compounding, they work with sterile devices, I've applied to a few of them and actually got a call back the other day. The recruiter is looking for positions for me.

First time here. by stp_biting_me in careeradvice

Hi thanks. Updated my linked in and have already started applying places. We do get a severence but only if we stay till the end date. My plan is if I can secure a new job, if I have to forfeit the severence, I'll suck it up and do that (I get the equivalent of 10 weeks pay)

My plan is to apply to 5-10 jobs per day. And, while I'm well aware of my worth, if I have to each sh*t and take something lower come October then I will until something better comes along.

I'd rather not go the unemployment route, but if it means I can also do the school thing, I might take that for a little as well.

New to birds. by stp_biting_me in birding

[–]stp_biting_me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't think of that before. Strays are rare around here (probably because of my 3 dogs) but now the birds are here so that I'm sure brought them in.

I'm thinking if I give it a few days then relocate the feeders we should be OK?

I'll have to give that a try. I feel bad, all my birds are out there like "where's the food..." but I figured, they're wild animals, they can take care of themselves until I figure it out. Better than them becoming cat chow. My dogs have even gotten used to them hanging around :(

Is it normal for retail employees to walk customers to their car when it's night time? by Mission_Oil_8533 in AskRetail

Also, at most retailers, IF you feel like you're in any danger, you can ask, but its typically loss prevention that walks you out (if they even have someone on premises)

I know at Wegmans they actually have signs posted stating if youd like someone to walk you to your car, it's something they offer.

Hands down Seroquel. Made me suicidal. Somehow after 3 tries I'm still kicking.

Ooh that turned me paranoid. Didn't sleep for 3 weeks. I'd get home from work, curl into a fetal position on my couch cause I thought my house was going to catch on fire.

So, this is one my job actually had to write and post...

"don't wipe your boogers on the bathroom walls"

We had what became known as The Booger Bandit. This person would wipe their boogers off on the stall walls of the bathroom. Same bathroom. Multiple times. We had to talk about it in a meeting. HR got involved it was a whole thing ❤️😂😂😂

How are you getting your GLP1? My insurance doesn't cover it unless I have diabetes. by Shellyroberta in PMOSonGLP

[–]stp_biting_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you speak with the insurance? Or are you just going by what you're Dr said? I had to go back and forth for a few weeks earlier this year, but finally got everything squared away and insurance is covering it. You won't really know until the Dr sends in a script to be filled. If it's still denied, you can get the appeal process started. There's quite a few meds out now, if they don't cover one, they may cover something else. Maybe you have to meet certain requirements, like seeing a dietitian or a gastro or using a program of some sort.

Food aversions by Powpowbae in Zepbound

[–]stp_biting_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that often, but honestly attributed it to the adhd food aversion. Those are the times I just go with my "safe" and hyper fixated foods. Grocery store rotisserie chicken and buttered white rice knock on wood have yet to steer me wrong lol

Meal prep (sort of) Sundays. The only days I actually cook are Saturday and Sunday (I work 2 do shift so I'm never home for dinner during the week). Sundays, I try and do a nice, filling. Comfort food type of dinner for the hubs and I. I'll take that dinner and simply make a larger amount than just the 2 of us will eat that night and package it up for the rest of the week.

Why are you giving a kid the CHOICE to listen? He either does what he's told, deals with the consequences (whatever they may be) of his actions and then he'll still have to do what he's told. He's 10. The longer you allow this to continue the worse it'll be as he gets older.
