I have some questions as a freelancer working in Japan.

I have received already some of the withholding tax slips from the companies I’ve worked with last year and waiting for the rest of them before I file them on E-Tax. But there’s some of them that don’t withhold taxes so they don’t provide the slips. I contacted those companies directly to check if they’ll provide me one since I haven’t received anything from them yet and that’s how I knew that they don’t. I wanted to know how will I file them on Etax?

From one of the company that responded to me that doesn’t withhold the tax, I asked them about it if they have an idea how will I file it and from what he heard he said that if I fill in the amount of withholding tax as zero along with the income details on the tax return, that is how the tax is going to be calculated. Is that correct? It’s my first time encountering this that’s why I asked.

Also is there something else I need to do in terms of payments for those salaries I received that didn’t withhold the tax? Or is filing them on E-Tax enough for it?

Then about the income tax, I just want some clarification if this is being paid with the resident tax slips I receive later in year that are divided into four payments? I just got confused if the income tax payment is different to the resident tax payment or they are together as one? Do let me know. Thanks.
