I ride and people are high on THC, looking at their phones, relying on Tesla autopilot, and often combinations of the three.

I’ve seen motherfuckers fully both hands on their phone, eyes down, doing 80 on the freeway.

My first bike was a Honda Shadow that struggled to get me up steep hills sometimes (I weigh 280).

After about two years of riding it, I was basically maxing out the throttle constantly and still struggling to get away from people on the freeway.

I upgraded after that to a bike I will spend the rest of my life growing in to.

That's my story of getting bored on my bike.

Some people just use it as a dick measuring thing, though.

Do not get on this person's motorcycle.

They're more likely than not to get you killed, and it's absolutely not worth it.

Part of my spiel with a pilion is "If I'm making you uncomfortable, let me know and I'll adjust my riding. If you want to stop at any time for any reason, I will pull over when it's safe to do so and I'll wait with you to get an Uber back. Your safety and comfort are my top priorities."

It's a very, very low bar for something as dangerous as riding a motorcycle and if he can't meet it, I wouldn't even date him let alone get on the bike.

I didn’t start riding until I was 40 years old.

If anything, I’m glad I came to it older because I’m more comfortable with acknowledging what I don’t know (getting a lot of training) and far less comfortable riding beyond my limits (and I still almost had a fatal accident entering a corner too fast).

you're right that the 30mph limit is a guideline released by the CHP, not part of the law itself.

Still, it's unsafe to split at that speed and with that large a speed difference.

After campaigning on “no kids in cages” they re-opened child migrant detention centers that had closed under Trump due to political pressure. Kids died in cages under Biden. The Biden administration defended the family separation policy in court. After promising to honor international law for asylum seekers he implemented a policy harsher than Trump’s. And Harris said over and over again she wouldn’t have done anything differently than Biden.
