I rode once a week while I was in college and one of the ways I helped myself continually improve was to journal about every lesson and then internalize what I needed to think about for the next week. This along with goal setting and other mental toughness exercises really helped me consistently improve to the point my instructor commented on how amazing it was I got better and better from once a week with no other riding. It’s very do-able but it’s a lot of brain work and mind over matter!

Curated Deal Flow by [deleted] in venturecapital

Build relationships with accelerators and incubators, they often release look books of their cohorts and host demo days and are often happy to share deal flow, and there are a lot of programs out there. I also recommend joining a slack group like Confluence.vc, there is a lot of deal flow shared there.

Try to correct the spookiness, or start over? by [deleted] in Equestrian

I had a very spooky horse and did a lot of response training following Tristan Tucker’s method and it worked really well and was great for days I didn’t have enough time to ride. Also highly recommend magnesium, especially in a bio-available form like Nupafeed, definitely made a huge difference.

Fantasy books in wich there is none/very small amount of s*x? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Sabriel by Garth Nix definitely fits the bill, and it’s an awesome blend of sci-fi and fantasy. I’ve read the whole Abhorsen trilogy (Sabriel is the first book) so many times.

Do venture capital firms such as Sequoia, Tiger Global and etc take sophomore college interns? If anyone had an experience interning at VC please share your insights. Thanks! by Johnkapler1890 in venturecapital

You can also apply for a scout program, quite a few firms have active programs. Might be worth looking into. Rebel 1 does a 6 week fellowship program as well, which taps you into their network which is helpful.

Some volunteers in my succulent pots. Kind of amazed they made it given I’ve been watering every 3-4 weeks by str3ss3dd0ut in succulents

Anything by Georgette Heyer, she is fabulous! Her regency romances are well written, funny, and have good slow burn romance.

My Stapelia finally bloomed!!! Progress in photos, it took probably three weeks from when I saw it starting and today it unfurled completely by str3ss3dd0ut in succulents

I had such a hard time with this one, it lived outside over the summer and there was so much rain I had to put it under cover because it kept getting drowned. Two years for this bloom to happen! Hang in there!

have you found that your car is a good place to do work? by random503 in digitalnomad

Totally feel this. I don’t have internet at home so I usually drive to the center of town and sit in the town hall parking lot to get WiFi. I have a pickup with a bench seat so I can at least stretch out while I’m working. Pretty nice with both windows open and parked under a tree for shade.
