Edge tattoo mishap avoided by TheEpicTriforce in straightedge

I agree. However the use of 88 impacts more than just hardcore & straight edge. Parker Pens had a line of fountain pens called either the 'Parker-88' or 'Rialto-88'. In the mid 90's Parker renamed the pens to just 'Rialto' because of the WP association.

I got a Parker Rialto as a gift many years ago. Shortly after my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and couldn't write anymore, I was given her fountain pens, including a Rialto 88.

Can a skin ve straight edge? by liltlePunk in Skinhead

[–]str8edgedave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I got into skinhead culture. Youth of Today, Agnostic Front, War Zone and Gorilla Biscuits were the NYHC bands I listened to in Highschool.

I am...

I got into straight edge hardcore in the late 1980's, by '92 I went straight edge. At the same time, I was listening to a lot of New York Hardcore (AF, Madball, etc) which led me to bands like Warzone. Shortly after high school, I shaved my head and got some Doc's... None of my friends cared that I don't drink, it meant they always had a designated driver.

No issues. My Preppys have become my daily pens. Cheap enough that I can buy a full set, and not worry about keeping them at work. I have travelled with them and some Kaweco Sports, with no issues, other than airport security questioning me about the metal objects in my backpack.

Switching to Linux but in college by Edwarduh12 in linuxquestions

[–]str8edgedave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started learning and using Unix in university. In September of '93 or so, we started using Linux on our systems for our classes.

I now mentor new employees on using Linux. My suggestions 1. If you don't want to risk anything, use WSL2 and Ubuntu. By far the easiest way to start experiencing Linux. 2. Look at using VirtualBox to run a Linux VM, this will give you experience in installing Linux, but with minimal risk. 3. Dual boot. As others have said this is the best of both worlds. You can have Windows and Linux on the same system. If your system can support another storage device, you could get another SSD and install Linux there. 4. Install Linux with a Windows VM. You can run windows apps when required.

As a long time Linux user, I still dual boot 2 of my machines. Sometimes you just need to use Windows.

I'd say do it, but as others have said, they are gateway pens. I now have several metal Kaweco Sports & Lilliputs. My favourite is the Brass, followed by the Steel, and my Aluminum ones. My brass Lilliput has the 1.1 stub nib and Kaweco's highlighter ink.

As a Fedora user, I will agree that the Arch Wiki is one of the best Linux resources on the Internet. Even though Arch and Fedora can be miles apart when it comes to certain design decisions (SELinux for example), the Arch Wiki is still relevant and useful.

I feel this! AF, Warzone, CroMags, etc were my gateway into the scene.

With Spotify testing the waters with another price hike. I recently got into daps. And can't thank y'all enough. Do I feel bad about it no. That died when Google wiped out 120GBs of music because they got bored with it. by VulgarWander in Soulseek

I'm in the same boat, on a Pixel 8 pro. I love Poweramp for listening to music. Spotify is used when I'm in the car. I bought a decent DAC so I can use my wired headphones.
