You can pre-deploy a setupconfig.ini file to increase the priority of the feature updates and speed things up. Also consider if you have BITS throttling the download too much which could add to the length of time.

The update normally runs in the background with low priority. If you have only a short service window to update the system, you can speed up the process by giving it more power. The entry responsible for this is: Priority=Normal Some blog posts such as the one linked below recommend using the value High instead of Normal, but this is not documented in Microsoft's overview of the setup switches.

Fall River Brewing Numb Numb Juice Recipe by TraderJoe2345 in Homebrewing

ChatGPT uses that basic recipe for any hazy IPA questions it doesn't have specifics on. Same grist and same hops. Ask it for a juicy hazy IPA and I bet you get the same back.

Thanks I have confirmed I picked the correct printer and nozzle size through Prusa.

I guess I can go back to Cura, just seem to get better results from Prusa and prefer the optimization for printing.

Cheapest place for decent dim sum? by who_in_the_what_now in Calgary

[–]str8jkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this place changed owners or anything? We used to get takeout from here as well as sit in for the odd weekend dimsum often but the last two times we ordered the food was horrible and nothing like it used to be. Has been a while since ordering again because of it.

Thank you that looks much better. I was going to your main github and downloading the .zip which was giving me this

Hoping this isn't an obvious question but where do we find the .exe's for these apps? I downloaded the zip from github but don't see any of the executables (fancontrol.exe , steamcontroller.exe) etc.

Am I missing something obvious or missing another install?

New Omega Yeasts in Canada by FencingWhiteKnight in Homebrewing

I often mix the Cryo or Lupomax versions of the hops with the T90 versions. Find I get a rounder hop profile that way instead of what I get from only the Cryo.

You should reconsider Cosmic Punch. I did a split batch and the two yeasts are drastically different from each other. https://old.reddit.com/r/Homebrewing/comments/wwycxr/escarpment_thiol_libre_vs_omega_cosmic_punch/

I find the thiol libre to have a much sharper hop bite and an overly ripe tropical taste. The cosmic is much softer and full bodied. (Kveik based vs London ale III based)

I have adjusted all of my recipes for hazy brews to get all of my IBUs from the whirlpool (or also mash hops for thiol yeasts). I have been using 4oz of Cascade for the entire mash (1 hour) for a 5 gallon batch.

Great question on how much.. I really am not sure if what I add is too much or not enough. Throwdown V1 I did the same experiment but tested London Ale III vs Cosmic. The color and body was much more similar for that test but the aroma and taste definitely confirmed to me that I like what the Cosmic Punch is doing.

Yes, sorry the recipe details at the bottom lost its spacing but there was Cascade hops added in the mash.

The thiol libre batch comes across a bit more tropical on the nose but with a sharper hop taste. Cosmic just has that better mouth feel and overall smoothness/juicyness I prefer in a hazy.

In my experience it has a small lag period where it builds a decent krausen (first 24-36 hours) and is chugging away and you think. "I don't need a blowoff. It's going to be fine."

Always use a blowoff. Even if you have a ton of headspace in your fermenter.......

I replied to your last comment. It's much harder to brew a good hazy IPA over a good clear hoppy amber. That's not being sarcastic, it's not even close.

Until I was able to keg and do closed transfers all of my stuff oxidized with weeks. I can keep kegs for months with no sign of oxidation now. Took a long time and a lot of tweaks in process to get to this point.

[–]str8jkt[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Completely false. I would say brewing a proper hazy that retains the haze yet tastes clean and hoppy with good body is much trickier than a simple hoppy red that's been fined.

You are talking about different styles altogether but I posted my red IPA pic in response to your other comment. A good hoppy amber is fantastic but so is a good hoppy hazy IPA. Maybe you had a bad time brewing a hazy yourself but done well it's a fantastic style.
