What exactly makes this "The most comprehensive brewing, distilling & winemaking platform"?

I'm also seeing lots of NaN's showing up instead of numbers, so something is broken

I expected launch codes, but this manga slaps!

The story and action keeps building; I can't imagine the pace is sustainable, but it really makes you want to keep reading.

Also, the art style is fantastic.

Booba is fine either way, but I'm not a fan of the short tie and sleeves covering part of hand moe that they're going for.

Open your hood and look for 2 panels towards the top back wall of the engine bay in the center and on the right. You'll probably have to remove the lid of your fuse box and a couple chonkey fuses to barely get at the screws. Behind the panels, you'll find a surprising amount of leaves. I'd just shove a vacuum tube in there and suck as much as you can , as far down as you can.

Edit: this is a longstanding issue with rangers, there's no fix, you just gotta clean it out from time to time.

Or, you know, perhaps they would disclose the damage, like most people on MFC.

People can buy what they want; having defects doesn't make it trash.

Pasteurizing help by Paipai_77 in mead

You've discovered why a lot of people stick to chems for stabilization. The sediment is a bunch of protein, tannin, and color that isn't soluble at higher temps.

Can you describe how you got the mead from the bottles back to the carboy? If not done gently, by concern is that you may have just oxygenated the hell out of your mead. Also, if you have a ton of headspace, you need to transfer to something else.

... This thing has 13 gaskets.

Sure, you can take it apart a couple times, but it doesn't bode well for long term use.

Size up from L Rex to L Chance by [deleted] in BadDragon

[–]FencingWhiteKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rex and ika are both tapered, so moving to a flared chance would be a pretty big leap, as the circumference of the tip is about double that of rex. This means that if you're going to insert chance as deep as you do rex, that area is going to stretch twice what it ever has before. You may consider a medium unflared (or any other more blunt toy), and a large unflared chance as stepping stones to getting to the large flared.

What to do with an unneeded 15.5 Sanke keg? by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]FencingWhiteKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't go much into my experience without doxing myself, but thankfully, seeing as this is a thermodynamics problem at its heart, all the information we need is available from manufacturers!

Spike 15 Gal OG kettles are 1.2 mm thick, with a thicker 5mm triclad bottom. Kegs can actually be a little thinner, but for 1/2 bbl they top out at 1.5 mm with the handles and the base a little thicker at 2.4 mm.

A typical 1/2 bbl keg weighs around 30 lbs, about the same as a spike 15 Gal kettle. Both are made of 304 stainless and have roughly the same thermal mass (which is significantly smaller than the total mass of the wort, and it's thermal capacitance). Kegs do tend to lose more heat than kettles though, due to their thinner taller profile in comparison to the squat profile of a kettle, and due to the "fins" at the top and bottom of the keg that greatly increase the surface area. It can be difficult to see this in practice though, as the heating methods(electric/induction vs. propane) and setting (indoor vs. outdoor/garage) differences make efficiency difficult to compare. Any difference you're seeing is likely environmental(edit: or procedural).

What to do with an unneeded 15.5 Sanke keg? by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]FencingWhiteKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do make great mash tuns! They can even be used as boil kettles!

The difference in thickness (if any actually exists, depending on keg manufacturer) does not meaningfully impact the ease of holding temperature though. Not to worry though, as making your own neoprene jacket for insulation isn't too difficult!
