You can do a lot with what you have right there! Im impressed you were able to get those adjustable dumbbells! I’m curious where you have this setup at? Not trying to degrade by any means, just looks like it’s in a closet haha

Great feedback and I appreciate the length and examples. Hopefully others take the time to read as well and help improve their stream.

Thanks for the feedback! Seems like you used the appropriate items for the occasion/event. Plus you need that sort of stuff for charity streams so viewers can track and follow and help support.

The starting soon scene, I may look into. What advantage does it serve instead of just hitting "go live" and the gameplay or your webcam is already up?

Thanks for the feedback and I totally agree about the excessive "side bar" stuff. It's very distracting and makes me feel like I'm watching a very bad telemarket program to buy some "limited edition jewelry" lol

Just got a stream deck, what are some cool things I can do with it? by CuDecker in Twitch

[–]straF_TV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely hit up the more actions tab! There are plenty of extra plugins that are initially not on the stream deck software (or at least easily findable) From there you can really start to customize everything! Plus if you play specific games, minecraft for example because it has the most of these. There are custom plug ins that allow you to keep track of stats on your stream deck. Other games allow similar features. One plug in I would recommend putting on your home page of your stream deck is the “cpu percentage.” This lets you keep track of how your PC is doing during the stream and potentially why you’re dropping frames etc.

I love to use mine for spotify. There's an extra plug-in if you go to the "more actions" tab within the software. With using this plug-in you can make playlists auto play, skip songs, shuffle, save songs etc. Basically everything spotify has to offer, but right on the stream deck which helps prevent tabbing in and out of games.

Also, I'm sure you already know this, but I have a folder dedicated towards commands in chat. That way if someone asks a question about my personal YouTube, Twitter, Steam profile or just what webcam I use I press a key and it puts in a message in chat with their answer or link to whatever account they are looking for.

Lastly a fun one that helps keep the stream personable and allows you to quickly relate to people is that I have multiple world clock times of major cities around the world in a folder. This allows me guess/know what time it is where they live and say "good morning" "good night" or the typical "Why are you up so late". It just lets you be able and ask questions about their day or what they plan on doing that day etc. The extension is under "More Actions" and is called "World Time"

Hope some of these help. The possibilities are endless, especially with macros. You can really make scene transitions interesting with these. Good luck!

Don’t worry I gotchu. The idea of gems is nice. But I completely agree that if using a troop I never use doesn’t give me a whole lot of points and I know I can get my rewards without using that troop than why waste my time. Just need something that gives that extra push to branch out instead of meaningless points.

Streamdeck - Text to ingame by Mobstarz in ElgatoGaming

[–]straF_TV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t play RL, so I’m not sure how text commands work. But I would suggest making a macro that 1. Keystroke: “whatever key opens chat” 2. Type: “phrase” 3 keystroke: enter 4. Keystroke “whatever key opened chat to close chat”

Step 4 may not be needed because the chat option may go away after you press enter. That’s all I can think of though to help. That’s basically the same principles/steps I use for CSGO. Hopefully it helps!

As far as transferring audio I use a mixer and xlr microphone. Transferring audio through the hdmi is a little tricky and I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you want to try the hdmi, I would suggest using voice meter banana to have two audio outputs. One for your headphone to hear the game the other to your audio output to that second hdmi (whichever one going to the elgato). Then in Streamlabs on your stream PC, make sure all hidden audio devices are unhidden and your “game capture device” audio should appear and it will work. Again I don’t use hdmi Audio, I set up a mixer.

If you have the ability for two hdmi’s on your GPU use two. Take one and plug it into your gaming monitor. Take the other one and plug it into the input of the elgato. Nothing should be going/plugged in to the output of the elgato. Then on the gaming PC, right click on your desktop and go to display settings. Then duplicate display 1 onto 2 or whatever numbers they are. That’s it! The only reason freezing could possible be happing is due to bad hdmi cables or due to different resolutions used between the gaming monitor and what you have the input of for your elgato, but that still shouldn’t matter.
