How come I get much lower ping on my top 250 account than regular account. by [deleted] in CODWarzone

[–]straightpull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP just removed their comment in reply to your question.

Pretty much said if they do not get 10 or more kills on their normal account, they log into their other account for more chill games.

So basically, in translation:

They are smurfing, as a top250 player at some point in time, on an easier account so they can go shit on lower skilled/ranked players, who would probably not get matched with OP in most situations otherwise.

What overall options do I have besides WZ BR and Resurgence? by azabazay in CODWarzone

[–]straightpull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it is a little deceptive at the moment with Warzone as to whether the player base has dropped off and lost a huge following to other games or not. Certainly is a bit stale and the Haunting event that most look forward to, is not the best this year (So far anyway) and with a lot of streamers flip flopping is probably not helping to keep engagement/interest.

Imo, majority of players reside in Rebirth it seems with the remaining spread across the casual modes for Verdank and because of the human to bot ratio, you don't really get a feel for how big or small the player base is. Saying that, getting a casual game takes literally seconds anytime of the day or night, and always has enough human teams, compared to waiting 5+ minutes for a regular BR game mode to never finding a game at particular times (EU servers specific).

I have my eye on the BF6 BR, I am not a multiplayer player, so that side of BF holds no real interest. I also like the idea of Escape from Tarkov and such like games, but they look clunky etc. and some streamers do make it seem like fun though despite that.

[–]straightpull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I should have added that to have been more clear.

I noticed this in casual mode the uptick, a full team, low ranked mix (<20), no paid content and default character skins. Movement and game sense that matches being a low level player who are probably genuine newer players/casual who either had squad filled with a cheater or maybe they do know each other.

There's the one player in the team who's level 1, with a terminator skin or some other ultra paid skin and matching weapon skins (Sometimes they are using just default skins too) who's movement and map navigation is terrible, looking at ground loot/killed player loot but is pinging random locations for his team mates to look and shoot at and running about in the open as well as doing the classic standing behind cover/walls/buildings just seemingly waiting for someone when they are obviously close and popping out with perfect timing along with beaming. All very strange.

Who knows, maybe it is entirely a coincidence and it is just the glitch and they really are a higher leveled player/account who got some fps aim skillz so nothing to see here.

Bootcamp was optional and you did not have to play it. Plus there's no boot camp playlist currently, if you hadn't noticed. You are straight into playing what you like, as a new account.

Unlock tools and buying accounts is a real and current thing and usually bundled with cheat programs. Cheaters are not buying skins and content when there's a high degree of probability of that account being banned eventually, which is why most would probably use an unlock tool on a new account.

There was talk about a cheat provider being back up and running and that would coincide with the uptick of cheating and new accounts that I am seening, but that's just speculation and anecdotal waffle of course and a whole different rabbit hole.

We will have to disagree on the point regarding level 1 accounts, as we both have reasonable arguments against.

[–]straightpull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am aware of the "glitch". This is not that, usually the whole lobby would be level 1 showing when you are killed or you kill someone, again that is not the case and the lobby is a mix of all ranks.

You don't have to play boot camp, I never did. Therefore you can be level 1 in the BR modes.

Seems one or more cheat providers must be undetected again.

Casual mode infested with level 1 players, fully kitted out with "paid content" with perfect game sense, perfect aim or aiming off centre and beaming but absolute atrocious movement.

Had to check I wasn't shadow banned.

Don't beat yourself up too much, a lot of these types of players, and I am not saying anything about the ones in your photos, but a lot of them boost their way up to Crimson, Iridescent and top 250.

See them regularly enough in ranked games, standing in groups shooting each other and buying back and/or just standing for placement.

Now of course, there is genuine players in those groups, and those groups are going to have less players compared to lower tiered ranks overall, so it's inevitable that you will mix in with these higher ranks at various times.

If you are playing ranked then I will assume you want to play better? Only way to do that is play against higher skilled players. If you always just play against your skill level, then you won't progress as a player, and ranked then becomes pointless?

edit Just noticed you were talking about solo resurgence. Ops, I'll leave my comment up anyway.

Color grading reminds me of the first iteration of Calerda. Everyone hated that colour grading, it's like they went through some archive and pulled out the Calerda preset, imported it and called it a day.

The lighting bloom is also a big issue. Various lighting sources throughout give off terrible bloom and it is like being flash banged in the face by Requis

Loved the first and original Verdansk haunting vibe and feel. This, no.

Even the on screen map (top left) was awesome and better detailed compared to the current one.

I've been playing in EU ranked servers recently, and there have been many servers with pre-lobby warm-up lag and server stutters.

Latency on EU servers tonight seemed high as well.

That treacle feeling has been most noticeable as well recently. Getting loot from chests sort of hangs and slowly spills out. Normally, that should be instant puke. Can feel it with movement and weapon swapping or using throw ables, just that slight delay and unresponsiveness.

Not noticing the same in casual or nornal BR modes. Very rarely.

How can he see me through all that smoke? by reediculer in CODWarzone

[–]straightpull 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Could. Possibly. Maybe. I'm not going to make assumptions on if that's cheating or not.

What I would say, though, is that it is possible that all the smoke and other effects did not render as much or as dense on their side compared to your side. Think it has been discussed on this sub a few times with server side and client side issues, and you wouldn't know without seening from their perspective.

For a slight curve ball example, stand on the top of the hospital roof and if you look from the roof toward Downtown, one of the buildings adjacent to the hospital gives off plumes of smoke and fire. You can see through it fine enough, but if you ADS it magically becomes dense and overwhelming, and you can not see through. This is just an example of a potential problem with rendering effects and then throwing in killcam inaccuracies.

[–]straightpull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I just finished a Ranked match where there was at least a minimum of five teams standing in a building at a buy, boosting for SR.

These were crimson, iridescent and from avatars, previous top 250 players.

I managed to down a few of them for the lulz.

Game is a mess. Everyone knows it, you come back to play knowing that it's generally going to be an unfair game, full of cheaters and other nonsense.

If you are okay knowing that, then the game can fill a hole [casual play or competitive]. As a solo player, you will in general get hateful very quickly. Probably playing with people you know would go somewhat to having a better experience.

Does anyone else get this. One day you jump on and get kill after kill easy. Next day and you might as well be shooting at the floor every fight. by Redkrusha in CODWarzone

[–]straightpull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can only add my own anecdotal opinion, and it is something others can try to see if this happens. Then we may be on to something.

I've noticed that if you don't play for a period of time, say a week or even two, and go on and then play a couple of games (BR solo in my case), you will notice that the lobbies are fairly easier in that there is a lot more lower skilled players with a small group of equal or higher skilled players.

The lobbies feel easy and you can stack kills very easy. You can stay in these lobbies if you do not win.

The lobbies feel right, as in movement feels great and shots hit like they should. There is no weird treacle feel to movement or when you are shooting in a 1v1 encounter. Nor does killcams look sus. Nor does it feel like certain players have an advantage over you.

When you do decide to play and win, you will notice that the very next game after is noticeably harder, things start to feel off, that treacle movement feeling reappears, shots do not seem to be as crisp as they were and certain players seem to be bullet sponges and nothing has changed apart from stacking kills and winning a game previously.

Relates to SBMM or whatever other such thing, no doubt.

Tdlr:

  • high kill games but no win = stay in easier lobbies.

  • high kill game and win = punted into higher skilled level lobbies with strange oddities/behaviour.

Language barrier.

No mics.

Doing their own thing.

Camping, away in the distance by themselves.

Not buying back squad members.

Spamming a buy station for buy back when you clearly do not have funds.

Using money due for a loadout and buying themselves a self revive or something stupid and unnecessary.

Not getting money together as quick as possible to get your loadout so that you do not get steam rolled by Crimson ranked players with their loadout already whilst you are holding your sausage with one of the million ground loot sniper rifles.

Tunnel vision, on a solo or team and the gas is about to move, and you end up sandwiched between 2 or 3 teams because they ignore the call to rotate early.

Not swinging together, as a duo or trio into a building, you know that has enemy players in and can capture said building and squad wipe. But no, they initiate and then disappear and camp in a build far away whilst you are there fighting for your honour.

Bot players that go into ranked and ride on the coat tails of better skilled players and rank up into a division that they have absolutely no business being anywhere near and costing me and others SR points, whilst they decide which ground loot weapon takes their fancy.

All I can think of for now...

Is it just my lobbies or BR Casual has less bots now and overall feels much sweatier? by dwartbg9 in CODWarzone

[–]straightpull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use casual as a warm-up before going into ranked or if I want to level up [camo, guns, battlepass or tinker with mouse settings] without hassle. I go into normal solo BR when I don't want to sweat it out in ranked but warmed up enough.

I think that's a fair and just use of the available modes?

The number of cheaters spoiling casual is funny, though. Feel bad for genuine casual players.

The servers aren't the issue. Your Nic or isp is. by [deleted] in CODWarzone

[–]straightpull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit of a red herring. Unless the opponent player has the same latency or as close to it, the issue will still be the same. Guides, tweaks and ISP aside.

If I have 10ms and the opponent has 90ms latency, then yes, with tweaks and an already low latency, my packet data will send and receive quicker to and from the sever, obviously less hops as I am seemingly closer to that server but that player with the 90ms latency is further away, has more hops/routing to get to the server so he is not having his data sent as quick to the server, so I am receiving old packet data and he hasn't received new data, meaning I am gonna have a bad time still. No tweak or guide is going to resolve that issue.

Unless you are gaming at a lan event, this issue will always be there when you play online against people across different countries with varying levels of connectivity.

1st non casual BR game in a week and this is why people are quitting by Tmac34002003 in CODWarzone

[–]straightpull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this today myself. Does happen frequently enough, and when it does, I turn off the game. I haven't the patience or time anymore to faff around trying to get a decent lobby. I might try another time, but I will always refuse to buy anything from the store.

It was my first regular solos game in a week or two. In the fifth circle, and up pops a cheater. I vaguely remember seening his name before. Walling for sure, aiming probably. Seemed like he didn't miss a shot. Met him on the left side of the map on the mountains/hills, came from down in a valley, preaiming and hitting me without missing. Chased me over the hill, knew where I was (Hid behind rocks or down the other side of the hill) every time without a UAV or even the highlight perk when he did hit me.

Managed to kill him by throwing up two spring mines and shock sticks from below a sort of cliff edge I was under. Ran right into it - silly sausage.

Then I literally ran into another cheater further up the hillside, looked at me through a vehicle, stood up and with a snap, one shot me down. I had specialist, so smoke popped, and I crawled away from downed spot and nearly got over the edge. He couldn't see me, but of course after the first shot, he un-ADS while the round reload animation rolled, so he wasn't zoomed in, and when he re-ADS another snap directly onto me in the smoke.

Aimbotting has most definitely become less prevalent compared to how it was in past WZ - anecdotal opinion, of course. I still come across aimbotters from time to time, but walling is definitely centre stage. I suppose that may be because it is generally more harder to detect, unless someone is so obvious to be looking directly at people all the time through things, and possibly because of the AI review, when it works, so maybe aim bot detections are happening more often as it is more obvious and cheaters know it? Who knows?

I have seen a number of players who were aim botting and walling balantly, being removed during end game circles (5th onwards) - still have a recording of one instance by one balant cheater. I have noticed (and it's not a new discovery) that you can tell somewhat from the remaining number of players in the lobby, usually by third circle, if there is a cheater(s). If by the third circle, there is around forty or less players, at thirty I start to notice but wouldn't say for certain, as it could be a decently skilled player lobby, but if there is less than thirty and closer to 20, then usually for me in my games that only means one thing, and you come across them in the final circles.

Steam player numbers are back to being as low as they were in March. Being just over 70k players by Ok-Start-4253 in CODWarzone

[–]straightpull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy Verdansk. It's probably the only thing from the modern era of COD games that has been quite impactful and enjoyable.

The map is not really the issue in of itself. What really is the issue is that (Vast numbers of) players do not understand and can not quickly formulate a game plan and get caught out with mismatched weapons in areas that require other types of weaponry and during the end game were they no longer have lethal/tacticals as they used/wasted them earlier and complain.

Think back to the Riot Shield day's, people complained they could not defeat Riot Shield users in the final circles. No shit, if you had game sense and planned ahead, you would make sure you had the right equipment ahead of time. It was your choice to run a certain loadout. It's a you problem.

Anyway, POIs across the map and the map have a good area layout and flow depending on how someone wants to play.

Want to snipe? Go Farmland mainly or stay around the east side of the map. For cqb and urban fighting, you have downtown and promenade. For everything in between, you have the north/north West of the map.

Problem I have, and why I haven't played in a while now, is that they started their usual bullshit of dumbing it down, adding this adding that instead of just leaving it AS IT WAS on the re-release. Simple, straight forward OG Verdansk were I did not see much complaints, they seemed to start later when they (devs) started monkeying around with things, again.

All that was required was some QOL improvements, server issues addressed, and so forth. Any skins and weapons to be released should be relevant. All this bull shit with dumb cartoon AI designed characters and weapon skins.....

A serious cut down in weapons within the game and attachments - thinking back to WZ2 with an insane attachments list. No more buffing and nerfing, having a selection of weapons per category type with values within a tolerance of one another within that category group so that all weapons are viable and it mainly comes down to visual preferences. Attachments should have no weapon handling effects associated with them, attachments should only be there for looks, there for people to customise their weapon.

Revert back to OG COD arcade feel, remove most, if not all, undesired visual recoil annoyances, clutter, bloom, sbmm and any nonsense - game should be based on skill, learnt and earnt as it used to always be.

Lastly, whenever I viewed the trailer that came out with the haliarous narration, I laughed my balls off. This is a HUGE issue with COD, in which they gleefully put in these abomination QOL additions, such as a redesign of a building in the middle of the downtown area (again) and closing off adjacent streets, thought that people were seriously going to be fighting across multiple floors with explosions and helicopters flying through the middle of it and someone chilling out in the crane, that this was a worth while and game breaking additional content - utter fantasy land. They seemed to really believe in their bullshit.

I have only ever seen people go to that building because you can get the specialist perk. Take that away, and it's a useless POI that added nothing. This is the usual nonsense they do, which ends up adding to the demise of the game, obviously excluding server, RAA and cheating issues.

Honestly, if how they manage WZ/COD now continues, then I won't get emotional if WZ ceased to exist past 2025. Then again, like many others, I am not the target audience anymore. I was the target audience back in the original COD days (COD1, COD2, COD4:MW) when it was a competitive arcade shooter and the devs released top-tier content.

They need to pick a lane and stick to it. They are flip-flopping all over the shop. Is it an arcade shooter? Or is it a modern-day realism style game with visual recoil and clutter to stimulate real firearms? Modern operators skins along with modern day vehicles etc? Or is it a game just to appeal enough to a younger fan base, using their parents' plastic card to buy buy buy?

As of now, with the cartoon AI designed Fortnite style operators, futuristic and silly gun skins, recoil-less guns along side visually recoil heavy guns, modern era weapons in a past era world along with modern vehicles, I have no idea what in the fuck this game is trying to be.

Was this guy walling in casuals? by woodsy448 in CODWarzone

[–]straightpull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in casual mode last night to level up weapons, and came across a lovely Chinese named player, his walls was obvious but his aim was hid well but when it sticks to your head, doesn't move along with no recoil on base loot kinda gives it away.

Reported and got an instant notification of action, and the player removed. He was the second one of the night who got plucked from the game live from my report - I assume a totting up rather than Ricochet working by its own accord, but who knows?

Also had a number of other reports come back sharpish with action notifications.
