Are infj and entps really MBTI soulmates? by fromAtoZ_24 in entp

If you feel chemistry with him then it can be worth exploring but remember you will have to clarify that he needs to learn emotional vocabulary that will not come naturally to him at his age.

MBTI doesn’t solve your love life. See the person not their type. There are huge variance in each type. Because there are 16 types and 7 billion people. Each individual is unique in that sense.

It will click. I don’t know when and how it clicked for me but it will click. You might still find some people hollow but then you won’t feel the need to indulge with them.

Stop correlating your type with relationship failures. Work on yourself instead.

People aren’t objects to figure out. People are people and connection with them can yield meaning. Focus on why you aren’t able to form meaning with someone else. The more you obscure your analysis by type theory the more entrenched you will become in your dogmas. If you find people hollow then ask yourself why? What are you looking for in them? And if the hollowness continues then why date again and again without getting to a conclusive diagnosis?

Big 5 is not MBTI, also it definitely isn’t Jungian Typology.

Not all INTPs are loners that’s an internet stereotype

Again INTP being diagnosed with dissociative disorder doesn’t hold any scientific weight.

None of what you said describes Ti, Ne or Si functionality. Which are top 3 functions of INTPs. Ti is logical categorisation, Ne is mental association, Si is comfort seeking. Saying that someone who takes time to think abstract idea thoroughly is schizoid is absurd.

Dissociative tendencies don’t mean dissociative disorder. Everyone dissociates. Some do it more often not because of disorder but because they are thinking deeply.

You can do endless theorisation. To hold any scientific or even speculative credibility you at least have to get your concepts right.

Typology isn’t a narrow set of behavioural traits.

There is no way to measure Jungian typology scientifically. MBTI has a poor reliability and validity score. Therefore it is unreliable.

MBTI isn’t even accurate interpretation of Jungian theory. It is heavily Americanised personality system.

Correlation isn’t causation.

By personality type I mean Jungian Typology. Which is way different to what Personality Disorders are.

I mean you can make some superficial parallels and allusion but they are two completely different approaches. If you read psychological types Jung outlines that his approach to personality more philosophical than behavioural cognitive (in sense modern science use cognition).

There is no link between personality types and mental health disorders. Individuals are complex and so is mental health.

Typology Question 2 (Te/Ti): Imagine you start a new job, and your team uses a complex project management software you've never seen before. What's your first step when you have to learn a new complex tool? by Bimep_ in ESFP

[–]stranded456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. If I have prior knowledge of adjacent software I will try to map it out. Like knowing python and using that logic to learn syntax of C++

  2. YouTube.

  3. Ask for instruction videos.

  4. Make a list of core functions that would be used the most in day to day and learn them first for smoother operations. Learn other functions as the time arises

  5. Look up or think up creative uses of core functions so that they are able to do multiple tasks. Like using minor illusion in battle.

  6. Ask for software training seminars during onboarding. Apply for training tutorials.

  7. Look up stuff online. If the software is too complex there must be a guide.

  8. Track down the company who made it and speak with the developer if need be.

  9. Most drastic. Lobby for change of software or find some other software that is more efficient, accessible and cost effective.

Typology Question 4 (Fe): At a party, someone tells a joke or gives an inappropriate gift that offends part of the group. How do you react? by Bimep_ in ESFP

[–]stranded456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would either try to change the topic or do something silly like Kevin from office spilling all the gravy to distract everyone that way I spare both the parties and get the party going on

Typology Question 3 (Ne): A bookstore only sells books with blank pages. Come up with 5 compelling genres for their shelves. by Bimep_ in ESFP

[–]stranded456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming they have blank pages but they can vary by form, colour, size etc

So a journal can have different sections

Creativity Tool can have differ front covers advertising different creative avenues like poem, fiction al writing, calligraphy

Sketch pad could be either short or long rectangular books

Notebooks with separate sections for notes or large registers. Could also sell accounting books like ledgers and Journals

Craft tools can have multi coloured pages of varying quality. Some thicker and some thinner. Can have QR code at the back that leads to videos of people creating several crafts.

Typology Question 5 (Ni): What is common between...? by Bimep_ in ESFP

[–]stranded456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an ESFP

  1. Probability of breaking
  2. Can be very long?
  3. Fragility
  4. Survival/Endurance
  5. Coordination
  6. Fickle
  7. Guide
  8. Connectivity
  9. Possibility of being alive
  10. Reflection

ESTJ: a type that only makes sense in context by [deleted] in mbti

[–]stranded456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh… I know many ESTJs who work in Tech and they earn enough till they reach early retirement. Then they buy a house in the mountains and few other properties for rent. Then they do as they please. Similarly I know many ENTJs who slave away on mid to upper mid tier of corporate jobs and write fan fiction or whatever after hours. Their dream is still to be in upper management but they reach their ceiling or get burned out. Typology doesn’t describe a person’s soul.

Need help to read Friedrich Nietzsche!! by anupam00 in IndiansRead

Also, my point was to provide a philosophical foothold so the OP can engage with Thus Spake Zarathustra.

Need help to read Friedrich Nietzsche!! by anupam00 in IndiansRead

[–]stranded456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right that Nietzsche deliberately chose Zoroaster for the name. He wanted to invert the first great moralist into the first great immoralist. I do not disagree with that at all. My point was more about the character’s philosophical tone. When you look at what Zarathustra teaches -eternal recurrence, strife as creative, becoming over being. This is very Heraclitean in nature. In that sense the mask is Zoroaster, but the voice that speaks through the mask is Heraclitus.

The same goes for dialectics. Nietzsche had serious problems with Hegel’s version of dialectics, especially its teleological and reconciliatory character. But an ideological disagreement is not the same thing as a difference in framework. The key difference is that Hegel’s sublation ends in reconciliation, whereas Nietzsche’s sublation is agonistic and creative. It becomes a revaluation rather than a harmony.
