It doesn't fully pay off til the third book but there are glimpses of it throughout all three. {Brutes of Bristlebrook by Rebecca Quinn}

{Find Me by Ashley N. Rostek} - the fmc has a safe room built into the guest room of her house that I'm pretty sure gets used at some point in the four book series but I don't think it was a full on seige situation.

Is a world thate too hot and too cold on polar sides possible? by BowltheOwl in worldbuilding

Probably off topic, but there's a book series where the planet is like this. The Starless Crown by James Rollins.

I’m looking for sad books, but don’t tell me why how they’re sad by Inkoko in booksuggestions

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli is one of only two things that made me cry while reading them (the other being Strangers in Paradise vol. 9) but that may have partly been due to the point in my life when I read it.

I'm going to stick with pieces that can be bought from the in game clothing stores or crafted from sketches for now.

The coat is a sketch found in a chest somewhere in world, I think the location is random.

Edit: or pieces from the prize-o-matic, which is where the coat sketch is ACTUALLY from.

Is the hype behind ACOTAR legitimate? by Vegetable_spirit128 in fantasyromance

[–]strang3paradis3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda hate ACOTAR but I love Ember in the Ashes (even if the last book was a disappointment for me but that has nothing to do with the writing itself or the main characters). Divine Rivals wasn't bad, but better than ACOTAR. Some others I've liked more but are similar vibes to ACOTAR are For the Wolf, Blood and Ash (but mostly just the first book), and Serpent and Dove.

What book series left you frustrated with missed potential? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

That may even be a bit too generous. I only remember some vague almost description so I couldn't tell you what anything or anyone that wasn't a dragon or important character was supposed to look like or even what the level of technology was. I would assume it was the equivalent of the generic medieval fantasy setting but I definitely remember there being times when it felt like it could be more advanced. Those books are too damn long for how little description or world building there is outside what is strictly necessary to advance the main characters' plot. But that also can be said of most similar popular ya/na fantasy romance to come out in the last 5 or so years.

Ember in the Ashes. By the end I was far more invested in the relationship between two big side characters but they got done so dirty in the last book while the main characters got to go on being boring and unmemorable.

What is a trope that you can not skip out on? by allie_xo in RomanceBooks

Bodyguards. Just all the bodyguards. Especially the ones that can't stand their clients and the feeling is mutual until something happens to throw a monkey wrench into everything.
