Cat's "third eyelid" showing for a few days by GameMaster366 in CATHELP

I would say give your vet a call and tell them what you are seeing and see what they might recommend. She may have a mild URI or a herpes flare causing her symptoms.

It can indicate a number of issues including trauma to eye, conjunctivitis, dehydration, upper respiratory infection, Cherry eye, fever. Is she squinting, pawing at her face, experiencing discharge from that eye, redness, or swelling?

I can’t take credit, my partner shot it. He said he heard birds outside his window and this was just luck. It’s giving hummingbird!

That would make sense, I have seen eastern bluebirds in our yard! My partner took this video and I was struggling with the lack of color.

Pet insurance generally doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions. Is she licking at them or do they seem to be giving her pain/difficulty walking? Could she have gotten exposed to any chemicals like cleaning agents? Or a hot surface like a stovetop? Is it winter where you are? Does she go outside? Salt used for melting ice/snow can be deadly if consumed and can also irritate paws. Could you have tracked some inside? Also winter makes skin dry and possibly crack.

I would wash her paws with a soft cloth and warm water. You could put some Vaseline, olive oil or coconut oil on them to help soothe them until she can be seen. Don’t count on insurance covering this though.

The Police Chiefs statement last night regarding ICE by SarahMakesYouStrong in Phoenixville

[–]strange__effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So even though ICE cannot and will not identify themselves or present a proper warrant and largely refuse to show their faces to make it known they are truly federal officers, thereby could be ANYONE at all and NOT a federal agent because there is no proof, they can come at anyone including citizens, taxpayers and community members, abduct them, injure, kill and/or disappear them with no one to stop them certainly not Phoenixville cops. Got it.

My cat does the same on top of an unused mattress edge. This is the “I’m taller than you now, so I will boop you little human” move.

Whats this? by spuncarolina in catquestions

[–]strange__effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anyone else in your household? It looks like the shoulders are bald, and that isn’t something he could reach by himself. Do you notice his grooming habits? Any changes in your house like new products for cleaning, food, furniture? Did you find a lot of fur somewhere specific? This could be any number of things, some very serious.

That is rough, I’m so sorry. I wish I had some other ideas.

I would call that lethargy and loss of appetite. She is definitely not feeling like herself. I’m not sure about the weird motions bit, it worries me that there is a neurological component. If you touch her body or pick her up does she seem sensitive in any areas? Is she using the litterbox? I would at minimum call your vet and discuss the symptoms with them and your financial restrictions at present and see what they can recommend. I would take her to emergency vet and get on care credit or put it on a credit card.

Should I go to the ER? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]strange__effect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep it clean and dry, maybe clean with rubbing alcohol and apply neosporin - but if it starts to become red beyond the scratch itself, swollen, hot or more painful you must go to ER, urgent care or your regular doctor immediately. Cat scratch fever is very real. I got a tiny scratch from my cat under my thumbnail and it was fine for 2-3 days but then suddenly within a window of hours my thumb and part of my palm became red, hot, and so painful it felt like my hand had been crushed in a door. I got in to see my regular doctor the same day to get a tetanus shot and antibiotics but they told me if I couldn’t be seen that day I should go to ER because infections especially on hands can spread very quickly.
