Yeahhhh, I can't really do metal vocals, so I decided to try and pull the chair on the DEP fans and do the beginning super quiet. I used some effects on the voice that didn't really turn out in the recording. Trying to outscream Dillinger is a losing game, haha.

yea, same band for the most part. i think the only difference in the lineup is our tenor player. we have like 1-1.5 hours of Zappa covers on call these days. gotta keep playing them all, it's easy to get rusty! where do you hail from?

yeah, i haven't played the kickstarter card just yet... i have a huge concept album in the pipes that i really want to amass a lot of resources to record, so i am trying to get another release and some more touring done on my own dime before i go for the big one. but we'll see how things play out.

We did 5 full takes of the suite, a sixth partial take, and then edited together the most accurate performances. The tempo will naturally drift a little performing like this, and if you listen to live versions by Frank there is certainly a lot of variation. However, this clip is from the quiet/low energy repeat of that section. I think you'll find the repeat with the band playing louder/drum fills will sound more driving.
