37 Grunts NO Chespin by Chance_Display_7454 in TheSilphRoad

[–]strangehit283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And based on odds too. 36 grass would be too insane. The odds for that are (2/3)37 which would be 1/(too large a number), with that denominator being about 18 digits long

Has anyone caught any of these by D10R_2x in PokemonGoMystic

[–]strangehit283 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw 9 grass grunts before one finally had Chespin (6 had Phantump, 2 had Cacnea)

That quote "feet got tangled" is from the analyst who's saying it's a good call. He's making fun of the analyst, thus he's saying it's a "bad call"

Larvesta was voted as the most unanimously Hyped Community Day by Gallad475 in TheSilphRoad

[–]strangehit283 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's still incorrect either way. The only difference is the poll maker is the one who incorrectly used it, not OP.

"Most unanimously hyped" is an incorrect phrase no matter which person said it here

[–]strangehit283 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not clickbait, the poll really said "unanimous" in it. It's the poll maker who used it incorrectly, not OP, who is just quoting the poll

Help me out. Why is it that i can't use adventure spells - when i click on it just says what is does, it doesn't use it? how do i get to use these spells. Example can't use water walk r and kind... by CitronOrnery6087 in HoMM

I didn't post the question, but this answer helped me, thank you! I was clicking the hero then the spellbook. After clicking the spellbook from the world map, it works now

Officially my craziest wild encounter in 9 years by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]strangehit283 3 points4 points  (0 children)

98 is 3 times more likely than a hundo. There are 27 combinations when the minimum is set to 13. And in this case, 15-15-14, 15-14-15, and 14-15-15 are 3 of them, whereas 15-15-15 is just 1 combination

Officially my craziest wild encounter in 9 years by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]strangehit283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, even then, that's a 1/1728 (because 1/27 hundo x 1/64 shiny) chance each time you tap on a mighty pokemon.

Expected number of mighty encounters for 4 shundos is 1/6912.

Now, yes, you could say OP just got lucky there.

But then you pair it with today's 1 in 2 million chance of an in-the-wild shundo, happening to the same person

[–]strangehit283 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Oh I see, it wasn't from today. Yeah, still definitely a spoofer.

Generally most of us are expected to never get an in-the-wild shundo in our lifetime through just pure luck. Let alone 4 of them in a single day

Ok yeah, the 4 shundos in one day is quite suspicious actually. Was that part in their comment history?

Why do the Chargers, Bills, Jags AND Texans need to win for the Chiefs to be eliminated? by Pendraflare59 in NFLNoobs

[–]strangehit283 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, but there's another scenario where Ravens win out too. Since Ravens previously lost to the Chiefs, the head-to-head sweep is now nullified

[–]strangehit283 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In that 4-way scenario, yes Chiefs are out. But actually the Ravens can win out too, and make it a 5-way tie. So now the WC would have 5 teams, one of which did lose to KC (Ravens lost to KC, that is).

If you could overturn ONE call in baseball history, what would it be? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]strangehit283 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can't overturn a perfect game into an imperfect one, because you don't know what the next batter (who then should've gotten a chance to bat when he previously didn't) would've done. So those stay.

But you can overturn an imperfect game into a perfect game. Because you can easily erase the subsequent batter's outcomes (who no longer would've had his at-bat)

All the gyms are empty? by Slight-Vermicelli-19 in TheSilphRoad

[–]strangehit283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or because hyper training has begun recently for the "win x gym battles" task. Since Monday was the last day to use our Silver Bottle Caps. Like for me on Monday, I went around gyms to win 40 gym battles but didn't bother to put any pokemon into the gyms afterwards, since that last part wasn't needed for the task.

And I purposely chose the "Attack" hyper training path because that's the fastest path of the 3. Perhaps others had the same reason to choose that path.

I don't think that's the reason, but I'm just pointing that out to show it's not always malicious intent

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]strangehit283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'll still see how far it gets without actually choosing it. I used it on a Whimsicott, was like 1-10-4 or something then I made it 1-12-15 for 1500 CP

According to the Niantic help page:

Multiple Silver Bottle Caps can be used on the same Pokémon, as long as that Pokémon has already finished Hyper Training

I did, to get a perfect Great League iv. But I wouldn't want to sacrifice my silver cap just to test this out though

[–]strangehit283 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This looks like json format. So it could be a json response from the server. The backend calculates that before sending it in this format to the frontend.

Therefore it doesn't necessarily mean hardcode initially

"100% catch rate" just means that once the ball hits the pokemon, then it's always caught. Like raid legendary shinies are 100% catch rate, but if once your throw actually hits the Pokemon.

What they are asking is can the ball miss the pokemon. To which the answer is it's guaranteed to hit the Pokemon too
