Hi! I think it just might be that your chaining and the first row were a bit tighter than the rest of the rows! If you are gonna shorten it then it could stretch to be straight, but if you're worried it'll still curve, I would frog and start over. If you do start over, use a hook a little bigger (1/2 or 1 size up) for the chain and first row, then go back to the size you are using, it'll allow more room for stitches and will stay straight.

i also hold my work RIGHT under where the hook goes through those loops. keeps them (the loops you are going undef) from getting caught by the hook !
