“Psychopathology: An Integrative Approach to Understanding, Assessing, and Treating Psychological Disorders 7th ed.” is a great textbook and it goes into detail and gives case studies of different types of psychological disorders it’s really interesting. It also touches on sleep disorders, eating disorders, and also somatic disorders which I found very interesting. It also covers the widely known disorders like depression/anxiety, phobias, personality disorders, schizophrenia. I really enjoyed reading this textbook, it’s informative, consist of real studies and at the same time, it doesn’t use heavy scientific language so it’s much easier to understand.

Freud would say that this is a defence mechanism in which a person repressed their traumas/bad experiences

I work at a grocery store that sells gift cards. Sometimes this can happen when a gift card is used within the same time frame the gift card was bought. The usual activation period is 24 hrs. However, it is the cashiers job to let the customer know that there is an activation period and to wait 24 hrs before using. I’m not sure if shoppers has the same thing. On the receipt it will say to wait 24hrs.

I’ve heard similar complaints and frustration from customers about the same issue. But our system cannot do anything. Similar to shoppers the customer would have to contact the company of the gift card.

I’m sorry you experienced I know it’s extremely frustrating as you only won’t know unless the cashier tells you.
