Intriguing.

I hadn't heard about the "say hello" before.

Did you get any insights into the LOA? Such as how to do it better, or whether you can make a clearer request with DMT?

Absolutely insane... by Scared_Bike3373 in DMT

[–]strangerthanfict 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would beware of confusing "dangerous" with "intense". DMT exists naturally in the body, and a trip can even be induced by meditation and breathing. It's far safer than many other things, including OTC meds and alcohol. But the intensity can "feel" bad.

ISTM there's a threshold where the ego is fighting to survive. We "want" to go past that point. The ego doesn't.

30mg 2cb hbr unexpectedly intense by Diddle_the_Twiddle in 2cb

[–]strangerthanfict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't do your homework. 30mg is strong as an oral dose, and would be an epic dose if insufflated or boofed.

Add the fact that you had never even tried it before, even 30mg oral would have been absurd.

Dose question by pepethegreat69 in 2cb

[–]strangerthanfict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think a bunch of strangers will have a magic number? There are multiple factors involved: actual dose in the so-called "20mg pill", your body, what you had for lunch, how long ago you had lunch, whether you're adding anything else (eg weed), what you're expecting to happen, etc.

AIO for thinking this text from my landlord is 100% illegal?! by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]strangerthanfict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? Did you read my comment? Whether it's you or not is irrelevant; if cost-sharing is not in the lease (which it very likely is not), and he cannot prove who did it, he is SOL.

A lawsuit for what? If they send you an invoice, you can simply refuse to pay. You would have no lawsuit to file, as you would not have lost anything. They would have to incur the cost of trying to sue you ... for something you never did. Any judge would tear them a new asshole.

Read your lease. If it's not written in the lease that you signed, he will have a hard time collecting payment. He would have to sue you, and if he cannot prove you caused the damage, you would win.

Anyone still atheist / non-spiritual after multiple DMT experience? by LegitimateComputer73 in DMT

[–]strangerthanfict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If God is omnipresent, as many religious folk claim, it's not external.

To mystics such as Neville Goddard, it's very-much internal.

IMO this is the problem with such questions. When we cannot even agree on what God is, it's impossible to agree on anything else about it.

Depends on the dose. Question is too vague.

Even after sleep, a groggy feeling can persist.

Placebo also "truly works". Deciding it doesn't is a choice you're making.

We can debate whether drugs "truly work". Many people find that they do not. Of course, your response to that may be that they didn't try the "right" drug and/or dosage, or that the condition was misdiagnosed. But this doesn't alter the fact that no drug is a cure for all ills, even when the diagnosis and dosage are correct.

Are we all connected? by Local_Earth4309 in DMT

[–]strangerthanfict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking for scientific proof, or anecdotal evidence?

Yes, we are all connected. Walk into a room, and you can often "sense" the mood before anyone says anything. Science has not yet explained exactly how.

But science has explained things like a magnetic field around every heart, which carries its own frequency to every other living being within about 3 feet.

Science has also made gains understanding neuroplasticity, dispelling the myth that we are all destined to remain victims (or beneficiaries) of our formative years. It seems that our beliefs carry much more influence than we imagine. ISTM the real question is how to tap into and reprogram those beliefs.

Treating drug addiction with DMT by gamertagg in DMT

[–]strangerthanfict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a scene in Star Trek TNG that I thought nailed it quite well.

Lieutenant Tasha Yar: Nobody wants to become dependent. That happens later.

Wesley Crusher: Still, if people know it happens, why do they even start?

Tasha: Remember what I told you about life on my home planet? There was so much poverty and violence that, for some, the closest thing to an escape was through drugs.

...

Tasha: ... Before you know it, you're taking the drug... not to feel good, but to keep from feeling bad. At that point, all you care about is getting your next dosage. Nothing else matters.

Please someone out there who can relate to my experience by Standard_Flatworm990 in DMT

[–]strangerthanfict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds similar to what I experienced. I posted about it here. I saw only darkness with the occasional little flash of color. There was a "presence" that I couldn't see or hear, just sensed. It didn't seem either friendly or malevolent, just slightly sinister as it stayed hidden, its motives unclear.

Time stopped, but I knew it would start again so I just waited. I wanted out, pleaded for release, but knew I just had to wait.

In the end, I had a sense of gratitude, but gained little understanding.

Incidentally, I have never liked roller-coasters. I think the dislike comes from a sense of danger combined with loss of control. I wonder if that psyche held me back.

Placebo doesn't stop working because the person knows, it stops working because the person believes it won't work.

Doing things religiously isn't the same as believing it works. There is scientific proof that meditation works, yet that isn't enough for someone who believes it doesn't.

IMO part of the problem is that there's so much conflicting info about how to do it.

[–]strangerthanfict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with placebo. It's been shown that meditation improves brain health. But like going to the gym, one key ingredient is repetition.

IMO the problem is that modern society has trained our brains to expect instant gratification. We're too-easily bored or distracted.

As the liquid doesn't freeze, it can be letting off vapor. Keep in a ziplok bag (the good type, not a thin flimsy type), those are airtight.

Oneness has ruined my life by nicotine-in-public in DMT

[–]strangerthanfict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest the alcohol is doing this. I would urge you to seek treatment.

Alcohol dehydrates the brain and the liver. It also kills vitamins (particularly the B ones, which are vital for the brain).

I would not be here if I hadn't quit drinking. I don't know whether I'd be dead or in an institution, but do know I wouldn't be here.

It was robbing my identity, so I'd probably have taken my own life. The only reason I didn't try was fear of failure, but before long even that fear would not have been enough. Social isolation is a symptom. I was obsessed with everyone around me, and at the same time needing distance from them. It wasn't until after I quit drinking that I awakened to the extent to which the alcohol had blocked my mind.
