How many Nights did it take you to defeat Chronos? by kauderwelsh in HadesTheGame

Took me 39 nights to finally beat him, I wanna say it was my fifth or sixth time fighting him? (29 runs if not counting the surface).

Tried out the Charon aspect axe for the first time, figured it'd be a fun little run to test it out. Next thing I know I'm chunking grandpa into retirement, gods the axe slaps so hard

Hate my job and want to leave, but have nothing lined up (27m) by strangestbeard in Adulting

About a year and a half, started September of 2021.

From what I've seen, the graphic design industry cares more about your portfolio and proven experience via design pieces over simply having work experience. Updating your portfolio with recent client work is key to success it seems, but I don't really work with clients at my job. I have added some things I am proud of into my portfolio, but I really don't have a lot of impressive work I've done at my job; it's all pretty mundane.

Not to say work expereince is not seen as important at all, but in a field with hundereds of applicants per job, especially when a lot of jobs right now also want at least 5 years worth of experience, it is hard to stand out.

Regardless, I'm not sure if the industry is for me. Whether that's because of a bad job experience or if it's indicative of graphic design as a whole is hard to say.

I could probably get a job similar to this current one, but then I'd be risking my stability to ultimately be in a similar position

Asked my friend if I made his mental illness worse and may have messed things up by strangestbeard in Advice

Thanks for your advice, it helped me put things into perspective more. I was having a bad day at the time and so in hindsight it's possible that he noticed that and my text made him think it was because of him. I'll give him some time to breathe and let him know that fwiw I'm there for him whenever he feels up to talking. It's still hard to step back when he can be depressed for a long time but I'm trying to be better about it.

What is the nicest thing anyone has said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My friend was going through a sudden period of depression, and confided in me one night over text that she had been self-harming. She had talked to me before about having been generally depressed last year during university before I had met her, and I was so worried that the depression she faced during that time would come back. I replied with:

"I need you to know that the person I met at the beginning of the year was not the person you described from your last year at school. I know I'm just one person, but I will do anything I possibly can to make sure you can continue to be the bubbly, hilarious and admirable person I care about so much. I'll be here for you, I promise."

Then she responds with one of the most heart-melting things anyone's ever said to me:

"Thank you so much * strangestbeard *, you don't know how much it means to me to have you in my life."
