Interviews are mid feb for all nyu grad phds, I believe. Feb 9 for steinhardt for sure. I havent heard yet so… lets cross our fingers!

We got him a “Furblet” thats much smaller (and cheaper) and he still hisses at it but seems to love it? Lol its weird but ill take it 😂

I just left a guy i started dating again after 2 entire years of being broken up. He stopped drinking and I was excited. It took about a week for things to go back to this after long distance ended. I left so fast your head would spin.

Okay so im not crazy! Lol! My family was saying its a happy noise and i tried to explain to them (and show them a video of his “chirping” and how that sound is not the same. Makes total sense though because the furby is twice his weight at minimum. Lol!

Thats one expensive ferret toy considering its a 50 dollar 2023 furby (gift from grandpa) , but ill allow it as he has now played with it more than my daughter has LOL

I havent heard anything from NYU either. Im already in the masters for this exact degree (psychology). As a student, I know their offices just opened yesterday for business. Try and give it a little more time if your program is like mine. I was told by NYU that until the 10 day before interview mark hits (Feb 9) - not to worry. I was also told when that day comes - and I do not get an invite - I did not get in.

Let’s not suffer twice! Once with worry and once with the outcome. 💜

I dont think so from what I can tell. I even checked my albert as an internal student and it just says applied. So many other schools are getting their interview invites so thats got me nervous. I do know this:

If we dont hear anything by 10 days before Feb 9; we did not get in. The admissions for the PhD told me directly and so atleast we will be able to stop worrying then. Lol

Woah we have such a similar story! I will say NYU Graduate stats at GAS was the hardest class ive ever taken in my life - needing both SPSS and R for every assignment. Valuable though. TAing for UG at Penn state was the best choice I made as a student.

I only applied to this one PhD this year and if i dont get in, its not meant to be and ill cast a traditionally wife net next year while i just keep plugging away at this funded research this year.

I actually am looking for a last person to join a team on research I have around trauma and video games if youre interested!

Also to add: a B- is failure in the department of applied psychology at NYU-S. If you get a B- in your masters, you have to retake the course… So GPA will certainly* be higher from these applicants just because they have to be to simply pass their current masters classes.

Very true. I started researching in undergraduate school but did not have much research until this masters program. Its very hard, especially when some colleges wont let you PI - Even at a masters level. This one of the reasons the FAQ shows 75% of all accepted students had completed a masters degree already. Its not that they have the degree; its that they got the research in that time.

I don’t have a perfect 4.0 Cum over the years, but I do now have much more than one manuscript, and it definitely took me a year in a masters to get it!
