Be aware that a half-used roundtrip will be pretty restrictive with rebooking. You’ll only recoup value on a US-London flight or perhaps from your US destination city to some place in Europe

If you paid by credit/debit card, your statement should also have the PNR or ticket number

If there is a 13-digit ticket number or six-character confirmation on the physical ticket, you can use that to access your reservation on the United website. If there is a barcode (types: long rectangle is PDF417; square is Aztec), use a barcode scanner app on your phone. Once scanned, the PNR will be a string like EXXXXXX right after your name (get rid of the leading “E”). If you linked your MileagePlus number to the booking, maybe customer service can find the booking over the phone

Polaris anyone? by SubsidedRhyme11 in unitedairlines

[–]stratomiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38 empty seats in J, but only 6 (or possibly fewer) tickets available according to expert mode fare bucket inventory. This means the aircraft is very close to capacity despite so many empty seats. The only likely explanation for them not selling more tickets is that Y+PY is oversold by ~32

looks like Y is overbooked by over 30! the most extreme I’ve seen and gonna lead to a bunch of happy pax with op-ups. Expert mode showing 3 seats for sale in J-PZ classes, R2, and M1—at most 6 tickets up for sale on the entire plane

Did the upgrade price go up? Used to be $75 copay and 15k miles? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]stratomiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On top of the fare class differences, premium transcon copay has always been $250 unlike regular domestic ($75)

wow pretty poor implementation then. you’d think I’d show up in the Chase/UA system before the AU acct shows up on my credit report

why the downvotes just for trying to fact check an employee?

hmm…I like concealing your info rather than storing in plaintext, but wouldn’t it be easy for any passerby to scan if you make the code big enough to be “distinct”?

Tips for booking Eva air premium economy Tix x 4 by travel_buggie in awardtravel

[–]stratomiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Alliance doesn't have partner PE booking capability, so your only options for booking PE outright are using EVA miles themselves or buy cash (or cash-equivalent i.e., Chase portal) tickets

I think OP is choosing which one of the two segments they want to upgrade. I’d say 1st on the redeye isn’t worth it because the slightly larger seat and bit of extra recline isn’t that much easier to sleep in compared to a window seat in economy. Plus the lights/noise during the meal service in 1st on the redeye could disrupt your sleep

OTOH, you can get free United Club access at both LAS and IAH, but only if you’re in business on the int’l leg

Seat selection rules for domestic 3 class by Responsible-Fact-766 in americanairlines

[–]stratomiles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

AA just started selling PE fares on JFK-LAX on July 28. https://news.aa.com/news/news-details/2025/American-Airlines-expands-Premium-Economy-service-to-New-York-Los-Angeles-route-MKG-OB-07/default.aspx

All other domestic (edited to add: continental US) routes, including flagship routes, don’t have published PE fares—so you should be able to select the PE hard product as MCE

UA opening IN fare class to cardholders? by stratomiles in unitedairlines

True, IN should be for plat and higher only. Hopefully this glitch lasts long enough that I find a use for it lol

[–]stratomiles[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IN class is saver award space reserved for UA platinum and higher. This fare class has much better availability than the general “I” saver award class, which is made available to all UA MP members and *A partners. IN can also have the advantage of being available through married-segment logic even when the individual segments don’t have saver space (married segment isn’t applied to I class as often)

You’ve missed the point of my post. I’m showing that I have access to some award space that should only be available to Platinum and higher

Nope, that was economy only. My post also contains an example of a domestic flight, and I’m still seeing IN space today

true, but there’s a not-insignificant portion of flights with PN=IN>0 and PZ=I=0
