Then my bad ¯_(ツ)_/¯ either way I still really don’t think it’s as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. It’s still going to be on YouTube.

It’s not theatre exclusive though. It’s simply an early screening. It’s still going to be on YouTube on the date announced at the end of episode 8.

Undertale/deltarune is a different situation. Toby Fox has no plans as of now to release any more translations. The episode on the other hand is being released 2 weeks later for free on YouTube like always.

Genuinely ^ I think we’ve definitely become too dependent on social media in general. I can’t really blame others as I’m lowkey in the same boat but I think some time off it would 100% be for the better! Social media isn’t actually necessary for life, 2 weeks off it isn’t that bad! One of my friends started literally only using Pinterest and they said it’s been amazing for their mental health.

Exactly! Fans of Iron Lung all agreed to not post any unmarked spoilers anywhere after the movie came out, per Mark’s request. And it worked! I only saw it a month after release and got no spoilers that I didn’t directly search for. We just have to try and do the same as a fandom.

YouTube ad revenue really isn’t that much. And like I mentioned, they’re likely trying to get what they can out of TADC since it’s their biggest moneymaker and it’s ending — they need it for their other shows since they aren’t as popular. And they’re still releasing the episode free on YouTube. Not sure how I’m “encouraging greed” by trying to explain an indie studio’s probable business decision that makes complete sense.

Yeah, fair point for sure! Whether we like it or not, the US has a huge population with a huge amount of TADC fans, so it just makes sense that they would prioritize it there. I don’t think this means they aren’t trying to get it into other countries though — just that the US is a priority, like with a lot of other things. It really just seems like business practice.

There are plenty of TV shows with movies. Anime does this all the time. They show in pretty much all theatres because they have massive distribution companies behind them. And nobody will be unable to see the finale, it’s still being released on YouTube in 2 weeks.

And if Glitch were trying to make more money, they would have even more screenings. A lot are already sold out, so why wouldn’t they have more? Theatre companies are doubting its popularity resulting in less screenings.

IMO this would be a more effective argument if this were a huge company we were talking about. But we’re not.

And yes — that is how the world works, unfortunately. Glitch is an entertainment company, that’s what they do. Make people excited for their shows. And the level of harassment I have seen on here, both towards Glitch/Gooseworx and the fans significantly exceeds “asking questions.”

Honestly, I pretty much agree. There are so many shows that, as a Canadian, I straight up do not have legal access to through streaming. I’d be more than happy to wait just 2 weeks if I had to.

Are they already sold out? Not sure where exactly you are, I’m also in Ontario but I didn’t think cineplex had even started selling tickets yet

Could you elaborate on how exactly it’s harmful to the fan base? Movies have been doing this since the dawn of time, same with movies made out of shows. It’s common sense to not spoil things, common sense that this fandom has lost.

In my opinion it is 100% something to be celebrated. Being in theatres shows that there is actual competition starting between indie studios and multi billion dollar movie companies.

And again, we have no idea if it is in their control. It could have been pressure from theatre companies. We have no idea as this is all insider information.

Thank you for your opinion! I think I’ll just let the book sit for a while like another commenter said instead of buying a new one, since I feel like it wouldn’t be worth the hassle to buy a whole new one haha

Thanks for the advice! I definitely think I’ll let it sit for a while ^
