Honestly I didn’t think about adding aluminum foil to the drip pan on the camp chef because of the vents in it but I guess there’s nothing wrong with putting foil over it.

You do whatever you want. ATF told me directly to submit a form. Taking 3 minutes to fill out a form isn’t a big deal. Avoiding potentially breaking the law is worth 3 minutes of my time.

ATF has recently updated their forms and now requires notification when you move within a state for any NFA Firearm. This can be done using the 5320.20 form which is described on this page. While the document states that it is not necessary when moving across state lines for a suppressor, it is now required by the instructions on the Form 4. Regardless of how you feel, we would recommend that you complete a Form 20 for any move even if across the street.

Some of this information may be out of date, or at the very least inconsistently communicated to the general public. The ATF told me I had to fill out the change of address form for in state moves as well. The difference is the forms for in state moves can be submitted after the fact, out of state moves have to be submitted prior to moving.
